Chapter Eighteen

"Attention: Self-destruct sequence initiated. Use the Central Elevator to evacuate immediately to the bottom-level train platform"

Leon and Olivia ran the Main Shaft, where Ada was opening the elevator. 

"We were just thinking about you" Leon said, clearly pissed by his facial expressions. 

"That makes three of us. I was getting worried" Ada replied as the room was collapsing slowly. 

"Y'know we make a good team" Leon walked slowly towards her "But I gotta ask you something"

"The way's clear. Please, tell me you got it" Ada said.

"Oh, we got it," Leon said. 

Ada put her hand out, waiting for Olivia to hand her the G sample which she definitely wasn't going to do after the things they had found out about her. "Let me verify the G sample and we'll get the hell out of here"

"Before I do that... we ran into Annette" Olivia began "She claims you're not FBI"

Ada shook her head "Oh, guys" She then pulled out her gun, pointing it at Olivia "Why couldn't you just hand over the sample?"

Leon pushed Olivia behind him and Ada scoffed. Leon replied "Because I realised, as much as I wanted to trust you..." he pulled out his gun "I didn't"

"I really hoped it wouldn't end up like this" Ada stated.

"So that's all this was... we were just some pawn to you?" Leon questioned.

"Look, I'm just doing my job," Ada said.

"And I'm doing mind, so drop that damn gun!" Leon yelled. "I'm taking you in"

"Hand over the sample, Olivia!" Ada spat, looking at her. Olivia gulped, feeling on edge "I don't want to hurt you" Ada added.

Olivia got in front of Leon and pushed herself against the gun. "Then shoot me"

"What?" Leon questioned "Liv?!"

Ada kept her gun against Olivia for a while but then dropped it. Leon took a breath of relief that Ada didn't shoot Olivia.

However, a gun went off anyway, skimming Olivia's skin and right into Ada's shoulder. All three of us look back and see Annette pointing the gun at Ada. 

Olivia hisses at the pain in the arm, seeing a massive wound, but then looks over at Ada, who had it worse with a bullet in her shoulder. Suddenly, the pathway was collapsing and Ada was falling. 

Olivia grabbed her by the arm quickly and the sample fell from Olivia's pockets. Leon kneeled and grabbed Ada's other hand, the one which was wounded. "Hold on, Ada!" Olivia called out. Leon and Olivia both tried to pull her up but it was of no use as Leon had Ada's injured shoulder and Olivia had an injured arm. 

"Forget it. It's not worth it" Ada told them.

"What? Are you crazy?!" Olivia exclaimed, "We're not letting you go!"

"Take care of yourselves," Ada said and then slipped out of their grasp. 

Olivia turned around, laying on the ground as Leon kept in the same position. That was until the ground beneath them began collapsing even more. 

"Olivia, we need to go" Leon told her and they ran to the elevator. Once they were out of it, they got to a room full of computers, where the screen turned on, revealing Claire. 

"Claire!" Olivia yelled out.

"Olivia?! Leon?!" Claire questioned "You're down here too?!"

"Yeah" Leon replied "The whole place is coming down"

"Listen to me, Claire. You need to get out. Fast!" Olivia said to her. 

"There's a way out. We can make it!" Claire replied, "Where are you now?"

The screen cut and we couldn't see her anymore "Claire? You still there?" Leon asked.

"Guys? Hey, you're breaking up" Claire responded.

"Forget about us! Just get out of here!" Olivia yelled.

"Dammit!" Leon cursed as we couldn't reach Claire anymore. 

They had to go further though, there were a lot of plant beings so we ran through them as quickly as we could.

"Eight minutes until detonation" 

As we were escaping, the Tyrant busted through a wall. "Uh... is this a fucking joke?" Leon questioned in panic. 

Olivia grabbed Leon's hand and pulled him with her, trying to get around him and through the door. When they were running through a passageway, the fire blocked them from going further. As they turned around, the Tyrant grabbed their faces, pulling them both up but an explosion caused the Tyrant to let them go, dropping them to the ground. 

The passageway was dropping, making Leon and Olivia fall to the bottom as the Tyrant stayed at the top, shielding from the explosions. 

A part of the passageway fell between Olivia and Leon but they dodged it just in time. "Gotta keep going" Leon told Olivia and they both stood up. 

"Seven minutes until detonation"

Leon grabbed the joint plug and plugged it in, pulling the lever and the lift moved down. Leon and Olivia thought they only had to worry about structures falling but the Tyrant came down to the lift, meaning they had to defeat him. 

Olivia used the Flamethrower as Leon kept shooting at him. Eventually, he roared and spread his arms, revealing his chest so Olivia began shooting at the beating heart on his chest as it was his weak point. Leon understood what she was doing and began doing the same thing. 

Eventually, a briefcase came sliding down with an Anti-tank Rocket in it. Olivia grabbed it first and aimed it at the Tyrant's chest. When she shot at it, half of his body was revealed from the smoke. 

"You arrived at the bottom level. Five minutes until detonation"

Zombies were coming out from the door we needed to get through so Olivia aimed her weapon at them and shot. "This is kinda fun" Olivia smiled in awe at the weapon.

"Don't get used to it" Leon replied jokingly. 

A train was pulling up so they ran after it as the building was collapsing. "Come on, Liv!" He yelled to Olivia, who was close behind him. Leon jumped onto the train and reached out his hand for Olivia to grab. She grabbed it and jumped onto the train as well. They both leaned against the wall, relaxing for a moment.

"Ready to go?" Leon questioned, reaching out his hand.

Olivia took his hand "Of course"

Leon opened the door to where Claire was and saw that she had company, a little girl. "Leon?! Olivia?!" Claire exclaimed in happiness at seeing them.
