They went into the Main Hall and Olivia placed the Maiden medallion into the Goddess statue which opened up the whole of the passageway.
"So it goes underground? Huh," Leon nodded. "That's it- That's our way out"
"Marvin!" she exclaimed over to the man lying on the couch in pain "It's time to go!"
When they heard no answer, Leon and Olivia walked up to him. "Hey, Marvin," Leon said, placing a hand on his arm, trying to wake him up
Marvin immediately sat up with a frustrated groan. He breathed in and out angrily.
"We have to get you to a hospital," she told him.
"No, no," He said "Save yourself"
"Look, we can still make it out of her together if you just give me-" Leon said but got cut off by Marvin pulling out his gun which made Leon slump his shoulders and take a deep breathe, knowing what was coming.
"It's too late. I tried Leon... but I couldn't stop it. We can't let this thing spread. It's on you now" Marvin said, looking between Leon and Olivia "Just go"
"I understand" Leon replied, taking Olivia's hand into his.
"What- Leon!" she exclaimed, trying to get out of his grip "We can't just leave him!"
Leon didn't respond to what she was saying, instead continued to drag her into the passageway.
"Leon!" She shouted as the passageway was closing.
"What?!" He yelled back, his head turning towards her and his hand letting go of hers "There is nothing we can do, Liv! He's too weak to stand! If I could've done something then I would have! And you're stupid to think there is a hospital in this damn city which could actually help him!"
Olivia was quiet, looking down at her feet. No one ever made her feel this way except her father and Leon could see that his shouting affected Olivia. He groaned in frustration and touched her arm "Fuck, I'm sorry for shouting at you, Liv" He muttered. "I'm just so done with all these puzzles and running around. It's bullshit. I'm so sorry for letting it out on you"
"I understand" she whispered.
He pulled her into a hug "I'm so sorry"
How could she ever be mad at him when he does these things to her body? It's like she melts every time he gives her the slightest of touches.
"We should probably continue," she told him, trying to push away her feelings and he agreed.
They looked around the room and found shotgun shells and gunpowder. They then went down the elevator which landed them in the passageway. They explored separately for a while until Olivia heard shouting coming from where Leon was.
"Leon?! Are you alright?!" she yelled but he didn't respond, the shouting just continued. She ran over to where he was and that's when she saw a creature they hadn't seen before. It had a massive flesh arm with an eye on it and it was holding a big pole.
Leon was slammed into the ground and fell through it with the creature on top of him.
Olivia got on her knees and looked at what was happening. She needed to come up with a plan. Quick.
She saw the other side of the hole was still intact so she jumped towards it and grabbed onto it last second, swinging her body so that she could kick the creature-human thing in the face and get it off of Leon. The creature was now aiming for her and began chasing her down.
She didn't know what this creature could do or if Matilda could get him down so she tried knocking him down with Matilda but that's all it did... gave her more time to run.
"Shit" she whispered as she saw that Matilda was not the source they needed to kill him.
Leon pulled out his shotgun and aimed at the eye the creature had on its arm. When Leon shot at it a few times, the eye went yellow which they assumed meant it was working.
The creature swung its pole at them and Leon covered Olivia's head as we got down.
I guess that was also one of his instincts... Olivia thought.
She had no time to think any longer before the creature swung its pole again. Leon and Olivia ran in the other direction and when they got far enough, he shot at the eye again a few times. It eventually went red and the creature started feeling some time of pain because it stumbled into the fencing and fell over it, dropping down into nothingness. Olivia ran to the fencing and looked down, making sure it wasn't coming back up.
It wasn't.
A ladder dropped down and Leon and Olivia both looked at each other, thinking the same thing. "I feel like I'm being watched," she said, feeling a shiver down her spine at the uncanny thought.
Once they got up, Olivia pulled a lever which moved one of the pathways. They got across it to another room. Olivia searched the lockers and found a hip pouch, passing it to Leon as he had barely any space. "Thanks" He slightly smiled in appreciation.
They walked further and there was a ladder. Leon climbed first. Truthfully, Olivia looked at his ass. It was a nice ass, after all.
Her thoughts come to a stop as Leon pushes the cover open, revealing a parking lot. He climbed out and he reached his hand for her to take. Olivia grabbed his hand and pulled herself up.
They looked around for a moment and then went towards the shutters.
"It needs a key card," Olivia said to Leon.
He groaned "Ugh, I hate these goddamn puzzles and mysteries" He ran his hand on his face and revealed his neck. Olivia thought it was the hottest thing ever, especially with him groaning.
Just then, she heard a growl from beside them and looked in that direction to find a dog snarling at them. "Why can't I have a staring session without getting interrupted" she muttered, hoping Leon didn't hear but he must have because he smirked as he looked at her.
Leon was shocked at what Olivia admitted and he decided to tease her a little "You were staring?" Olivia didn't say anything. "Don't worry. I stare too" He told her and Olivia exploded. Right then and there. "Focus, darling. We've got dogs on us" He said with a hint of amusement. She rolled my eyes sarcastically and pulled out my gun. Olivia really did not want to kill a dog tonight.
Just then, it leapt at Leon and before she could do anything, a gun went off and the dog fell to the ground. Leon got up and thanked her.
"That wasn't me," she said and Leon narrowed his eyebrows.
Suddenly, a woman's voice came from a distance "Stay sharp" she said and the dog started to get up but Leon quickly grabbed his gun and shot it. She winced.
As the woman was coming closer, Leon pointed the gun at her and she had her gun towards him. Olivia grabbed my gun and pointed it at her too. The woman looked in my direction, smirking.
She chuckled "How cute" She pulled out something from her pocket and showed it to us "FBI"
Leon lowered his gun quickly but Olivia was more hesitant to do so, not trusting the woman. Leon looked over at her and nodded which made me lower her gun but she was still convinced the woman was suspicious.
"Surprised you made it this far," She said and walked away.
Olivia scoffed as Leon and her followed the woman "FBI, huh? What's going on here?"
"Sorry. That information is classified" The woman replied.
"Where are you going?" Leon asked.
"Do yourself a favour: stop asking questions and get the hell out of here" She snapped and Leon looked over at Olivia in confusion. She rolled my eyes with frustration, angry with the mysterious woman.
