Chapter Twenty-Five

They walked through hallways and found a dead body leaning against the wall, a knife attached to it. Leon grabbed the knife and walked on.

A man was standing by a cracked wall so Leon snuck up behind him and sliced his throat. Olivia noticed the hole in the wall and the bars in between it. Their gear was on the other side.

Leon crossed his arms and nodded to the bars "Can you fit?"

Olivia shrugged "I can try"

She then climbed up and slid through the bars. Once she was in, she passed all of the gear to Leon and slid back out. Once they were all geared up again, they walked through the building, trying to find an exit. Leon saw there was a bear trap in the way of the door so he used the knife to shake the bear trap until it snapped closed. 

"Wouldn't want you getting stuck in it again" He said, looking up at Olivia and winking at her.  

Olivia raised her eyebrows and chuckled "How romantic" 

As they walked on, Leon snuck up behind another infected person "What can I say? It's a hidden talent" He said as he sliced the infected's throat, dropping it on the ground. 

When they walked out through the iron gate, Leon questioned "Where the hell are we?"

They climbed up a ladder onto another village area and Leon used the scope of his gun to shoot some villagers so they didn't get in the way later. 

They walked further and saw more villagers coming towards them so they took time to kill them all. One of them captured Olivia by the neck. Leon noticed and went in front of Olivia, grabbing the villager's arm and flipping the two of them over so Olivia was on top of the villager. Leon shot that one in the head as Olivia shot the one in front of her that was trying to swing its pitchfork at her. 

They ran further and Leon turned the metal wheel to open the gate below them. They made their way down and killed more villagers as they ran towards the gate. 

Olivia placed the hexagonal emblem she and Leon found at the village and placed it correctly in the stone. She then turned it to open another gate. 

They had to kill three villagers before they got up the stairs but once they did, they found a lot of supplies. Suddenly, there was a sound of a chainsaw "That's not good" Olivia mumbled.

Leon took a deep breath but kept walking towards the villager with the chainsaw. They had to kill him sooner or later and it was better for them to kill him sooner to get to Ashley as quickly as possible. 

There was a door so Olivia went through it, Leon following shortly behind. It was a much bigger house than where they saw the villagers were living - much more luxurious. 

"Not too shabby. Someone is showing up their neighbours" Leon stated and Olivia agreed as she took a Ruby that was in one of the drawers. 

As they walked further into the house, Leon picked up a photo of a man and a woman, writing 'At least, flesh of our flesh, blood of our blood. Give thanks and rejoice' 

As Leon was exploring the downstairs, Olivia was upstairs and she found a book.

'Illuminados 43'

'In great veneration of their master, the people offered up their most prized possessions.'

'The old farmer, his finest crop.'
'The slight swineherd, his stoutest pig'
'The beggarly grandam, her own beloved babe'

'The master saw these gifts and was pleased'

Olivia went downstairs and spoke to Leon "Did you see something with a code?" She asked, holding the book in her hands.
