Chapter Twenty-Nine

Olivia ran outside and picked up a piece of paper, writing:

'This is a direct order from Lord Saddler himself'

'Convert the area beyond this point into a defensive position so that no intruders may pass'

'I am willing to make any and all sacrifices for the sake of the righteous faith.'

'My devout believers'

'Build me an impregnable fortress'
'And make sure any heathen foolish enough to trespass pays for their wicked sins in blood'

Olivia hummed to herself as the other two caught up to her. Olivia showed Leon the letter and they all ran forward.

As Leon pushed open a gate, he turned to the girls "We've got company" Then he turned his gaze to Ashley "Keep moving, but quietly. Got it?"

"Okay. I'll... I'll try" Ashley replied, hiding behind the fences with Leon and Olivia.

Olivia moved stealthily towards a villager and then grabbed him and slit his throat, throwing him on the ground. As Olivia was dealing with some more Ganados, Leon used the scope of his gun and shot some of the Ganados further into the village.

"Holy..." Ashley muttered in shock at the scene.

Due to the noise of Leon sniping Ganados, one of them threw a pitchfork at the three. "Guess we're doing this" Leon mumbled to himself.

"Leon!" Ashley yelled as she followed after him.

Olivia killed the villager above them before following after them. She used the shotgun on the Ganados blocking their path and Ashley covered her ears at the noise.

There were way too many of them so Olivia ordered them to spread out, still keeping close but more at a distance as they killed them.

Once most of them were dead, Ashley and Olivia followed Leon into another building. A villager grabbed Leon but he swung the man onto the floor, shooting him in the head. Ashley shrieked in fright as she saw the villager growing muscles, veins and flesh in place of their head.

"Ashley cover your ears and close your eyes!" Olivia shouted and the girl listened. She threw a flash grenade and it instantly killed Plaga Guandana.

They searched around the building, looking for anything interesting and Leon found a Chalice of Atonement.

As they walked further into the village, Leon noticed it was eerily silent. "Sure is quiet" He muttered.

"Don't say that!" Olivia exclaimed, knowing he probably just predicted that something bad was going to happen.

As the three of them stealthily moved through the village, they went into a specific building and Olivia felt uneasy "Wait here, Ash" she said.

"What?" Ashley replied, frightened but then agreed and went into a wardrobe "Oh okay"

Leon and Olivia looked through the building. Leon tried to grab something out of a wooden block but two chainsaws surrounded him and were moving towards his body.

"Leon!" Olivia yelled out before Leon placed a foot on the wall and backflipped out of the way. Olivia stood stunned for a while before running up to him.

"Great" Leon mumbled, shaking his head as the walls crashed down, revealing two women with chainsaws and their eyes bandaged up. They picked up what Leon wanted to grab out of the wooden block and he said "Sorry, didn't realise that was yours"

Olivia pulled out her gun, ignoring Leon's sarcastic comment and shot at the two women.

"I am flattered, but I'm a one-lady type of guy," Leon said, winking over at Olivia.

Olivia rolled her eyes "Can you just focus?! We're about to die!" She grabbed grenades and threw them at the women.

Just then, more Ganados came into the building so we both fought them all. One of the chainsaw men got Leon in the chest and he groaned in pain but kept fighting.

When they killed everyone, Olivia noticed a gash in Leon's chest and walked to him.

Leon rolled his eyes, knowing Olivia was in a state of worry so he grabbed her hand and gently pushed it away "I'll be fine"

Olivia took a deep breath "Leon, there is a gash in your chest. It'll get infected if I don't bandage you up"

The boy leaned on a table and lifted his shirt "Fine. Do your thing"

Olivia looked at his chest, noticing it had now pronounced since she saw him 6 years ago and his abs were more prominent. She stood there silently, staring before Leon spoke up "Well... are you just gonna stand there or help me?"

Olivia shook off her thoughts and walked toward him. "Yeah... yeah"

She grabbed bandages from earlier and wrapped them around his chest. Leon felt his stomach twisting from the contact and gulped away his feelings. He looked down at Olivia, how she was tying a knot with precision whilst being careful she didn't hurt him.

Olivia sighed "That's it," She said, putting her hands on his chest and slightly pulling away before Leon pulled her back into him, lifting her chin and kissing her softly. Olivia smiled "What was that for?" She questioned.

Leon shrugged, grinning "I felt nice"

Olivia rolled her eyes sarcastically, letting out a snort of laughter as Ashley walked back to them. She stopped as she saw what was going on "Oh, sorry"

As they heard the voice, Leon pulled his shirt back down and Olivia pulled away, clearing her throat "Back to business, baby" She joked before walking forward.

Leon grabbed a lever from the floor that one of the chainsaw sisters dropped and they all walked to another gate. He placed it in the slot and turned with as much strength as he could. Leon pushed open the gate and they were running again.
