"Writing is a significant literacy activity in modern life that enables individuals to accomplish a variety of personal, intellectual, occupational, and recreational goals. It has been demonstrated, across a variety of investigations, that writing activities yield several intellectual, physiological, and emotional benefits to individuals. These benefits include improved memory function, decreased symptomatology, and greater feelings of happiness."
That research is from 23 years ago. All I know and am certain about is that writing activates and improves my brain function. It lets me express my emotions, so I can regulate them better now, and I'm happy seeing progress in my writing.
I could go on and on, telling myself that this is not writing, but just a mere rant or a trash can for my stray thoughts. But that just sucks. I never meant that in the first place. If this is the way I can express myself, then that is the literal meaning. Calling it a rant gives it a negative attachment. (Sigh of disappointment)
Why don't I know the risks of writing? Is there such a thing? That can be my next topic.
