A D I T Y A
As I reached the Blue Star Hotel, where the appointment was held, I took a deep breath to steady my nerves. I needed this meeting to go well, and I hoped Dr. Singh would provide some clarity. Pulling out my phone, I quickly dialled her number to confirm her arrival.
“Hello, Dr. Singh, have you arrived? I’m in room 501 on the 5th floor,” I said, trying to keep my voice calm.
“Yes, I’m in the lobby. I’ll be there in two minutes,” she replied. From the background noise, I could tell she was still parking her car.
I hung up and took a moment to collect myself. This meeting was important, and I needed to be composed. I glanced around the room, making sure everything was in order, then took a seat, trying to relax as I waited for her to arrive.
"Okay," I said, ending the call. I settled back on the sofa, my mask concealing my identity as I waited for Dr. Singh. There was an inexplicable sense of foreboding in the pit of my stomach, a feeling that whatever she had to share was far more significant than I had anticipated.
I couldn’t shake the thought that this might be deeply personal. But why? Aakriti had never made any enemies. Who could possibly want to harm her? I scanned the club's interior through the CCTV feed. This place was exclusive, known for its tight security. No one could just waltz in without a pass, which ruled out any random troublemaker. Whoever did this had to be someone with influence or specialised skills—someone who knew how to manipulate the system.
The idea of a powerful adversary targeting Aakriti made my skin crawl. My mind raced through scenarios, trying to piece together who might be behind this. I was determined to uncover the truth. Lost in these thoughts, I almost missed the soft knock at the door. Dr. Singh had arrived.
Knock knock
“Come in," I said, and Dr. Shreya entered the room. She was petite, much like Aakriti, with a light complexion and long hair that framed her face.
"Hi, I’m Shreya Singh," she introduced herself.
"Hi, I’m Mr. Anderson. Nice to meet you," I replied politely as we both took seats across from each other.
"You said you were Aditya, right? Her ex-boyfriend. Then who is Mr. Anderson?" she asked, clearly puzzled. Juggling two identities was proving to be more complicated than I anticipated.
"Yes, I am Aditya, but in the business world, I’m known as Mr. Anderson," I explained.
"Oh, I see. Never mind," she said with a small smile. "I’m her friend, by the way. We went to the same college—she did chartered accountancy, and I studied medicine," she added, reminiscing about their time together.
"Those must have been good days," I commented, trying to steer the conversation to ease her into sharing the information she had.
“Really she was kinda sad type girl but she was nice with me. I know about you both like how you both parted. Its really sad that to left her like this.” She said looking hurts
“ I was forced its necessary for her safety. I thought she will move on and be happy in her life” I said ..
“ But she never moved on every day every time she used think about you. Sometimes I saw her cursing herself she thought maybe she was not enough that's why you left her. Its heartbreaking to see her in that state.” She said it's really hurts hearing the deeds happened behind me.
