AUTHOR POV
With only three days left until the big day, the excitement in both families was palpable. Preparations were in full swing as everyone geared up for the grand celebrations. Tomorrow would mark the beginning of the wedding rituals, starting with the Mehendi ceremony in the morning, followed by the Haldi the next day and the much-anticipated Sangeet in the evening. The final day would culminate in the wedding, a moment everyone was eagerly awaiting.
Today, however, was all about packing and traveling to the luxurious resort booked by the Rathores, who were hosting the wedding festivities. The Shekhawats had previously dazzled everyone with the engagement celebration, and now it was time for the Rathores to take the reins.
The plan was set—by evening, the families would arrive at the resort to make the final arrangements, ensuring everything was perfect for the days ahead. Starting tomorrow, the resort would come alive with the buzz of rituals, music, and laughter, setting the stage for an unforgettable wedding.
A K R I T I
Three days. Just three days until I become his wife. It feels surreal, like I’m living in a dream. It wasn’t so long ago that we were miles apart, longing for each other, counting days until we could meet. And now, in just three days, I’ll be married to him—the love of my life.
How did we get here so quickly? From meeting him accidentally, to becoming his secretary, to falling for him in ways I didn’t think were possible—it feels as though someone pressed fast forward on my life. And yet, every moment has been filled with so much love, so many memories.
“Oi, stop zoning out and listen to me!” Mona’s voice cut through my thoughts.
“What now?” I asked, half-expecting another of her ‘brilliant’ ideas.
“We *have* to throw a bachelorette party,” she said, her tone dead serious, as if it was the most critical thing on our to-do list.
I rolled my eyes. “Mona, be realistic. Do you have any idea how packed our schedule is? The Mehendi is tomorrow morning, then Haldi, then Sangeet. *When* exactly do you think we’re going to squeeze in a party?”
“Don’t ruin the vibe, Akriti! Bachelorette parties are a *must*! How can you even get married without one?” she argued, hands on her hips like she was laying down the law.
“Must, huh? Who made this rule? Let me guess—Mona Patil herself?” I teased.
“Ha-ha, very funny,” she said, unamused. “But seriously, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing. You’ll regret it if you don’t!”
I sighed, trying to find a missing earring while stuffing more clothes into my bag. “What will I even tell my parents? And have you considered Aditya? What if he hasn’t planned anything for himself? I’m not going to be the only one sneaking out to party!”
She smirked, clearly one step ahead of me. “Oh, don’t worry about that. Abhiman told me the boys are already planning their own thing—something about hitting a club tomorrow night after the Mehendi.”
I paused, my hands mid-air as I considered her words. “Wait… *they’re* planning a party, and no one thought to tell me?”
“Well, now you know. So, are we doing this or not?” She grabbed my arm dramatically. “Come on, live a little! Don’t make me beg, bride-to-be!”
I laughed despite myself. “Fine, fine. I’ll call Aditya and confirm. If the boys are partying, we’re going too. Fair is fair.”
Pulling out my phone, I dialed him. The call connected after two rings.
