The car rolled forward, leaving behind the familiar gates of Akirti’s home. She sat quietly beside Aditya, her head resting on the car window as the faint sounds of her family’s farewell lingered in the air. Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears, her heart caught between the joy of starting a new life and the ache of leaving the old one behind. Aditya, on the other hand, couldn’t contain his quiet excitement. From today onwards, she was his—not just in words but in every way that mattered.

Yet, seeing her teary-eyed, a pang of guilt tugged at his heart. He couldn’t let her first journey with him be filled with sadness. So, with the determination of a husband who never wanted to see his wife cry, he broke the silence.

“Hey, it’s okay. You’ll be back there tomorrow. Aur waise bhi, mujhe lagta hai tumhare bina ghar waale ek din bhi nahi reh payenge,” he said, his voice laced with humor and warmth.

Akirti turned to look at him, her lips trembling into the faintest smile as a tear rolled down her cheek. “But it won’t be the same anymore,” she murmured.

Aditya reached out and gently wiped her tear away, his thumb lingering against her cheek. “You’re right. It won’t be the same. Ab wahan tumhari yaadon ka ek alag charm hoga. Aur wahan se har baar tum yahan wapas aogi, apne ghar.”

His words carried a sincerity that made her heart ache a little less. She rested her head against his shoulder, her tears slowly drying as his arm wrapped securely around her.

“I’m sleepy,” she whispered, her voice soft and fragile, like a child seeking comfort.

“So sleep, bacha,” he replied gently, pressing a kiss to her temple. “We’ve got half an hour to reach. Tumhare thoda rest mil jayegi.”

He began pressing his fingers lightly against her forehead, knowing full well the day’s overwhelming events must have left her with a headache.

“Umm… it feels so good,” she murmured, her voice trailing off as sleep began to take over.

Aditya smiled, his hand never stopping its soothing motion as he watched her drift off. For the rest of the journey, he sat still, careful not to disturb her peaceful slumber. Her calm, sleeping face was the only thing he needed to feel at home.

As the car turned into the grand driveway of Rathore Mansion, the dark night suddenly erupted in a cascade of shimmering lights and crackling sounds. Firecrackers lit up the sky, their vibrant colors painting a dazzling welcome. The mansion glowed under the soft radiance of fairy lights that adorned every corner, and the cheerful crowd of family members gathered outside clapped and cheered in celebration.
