AUTHOR   POV
The haldi ceremony was almost wrapping up when Mona’s mischievous grin appeared. Standing behind Aditya with a bucket of water, she whispered to herself, *Let’s spice things up.* Without warning, she yelled, “Surprise!” and poured the entire bucket over Aditya’s head.
“MONA!” Aditya shouted, completely drenched, his kurta clinging to him. He shook his head, sending droplets flying everywhere.
Mona was already running across the garden, laughing uncontrollably. “You looked like you needed to cool off, jiju!”
“Just wait until I catch you!” Aditya growled, but before he could take a step, his cousins arrived, armed with more buckets.
-
“Target acquired!” one cousin yelled.
“Guys, no—wait! I’m the groom!” Aditya pleaded, holding his hands up defensively.
“You’re also our favorite victim,” another cousin said with an evil grin.
Within seconds, the first splash hit him, followed by another, and another. Buckets of water poured over him as he tried to shield himself.
“Abhi! Joravar! Help me out here!” Aditya shouted, turning to his best men.
Abhi shrugged, smirking. “Sorry, bro, this is too fun to miss.”
“Traitors!” Aditya yelled as they all burst into laughter.
-
Akriti, watching the chaos from a safe corner, clutched her stomach, laughing. “This is the best thing I’ve seen all day!”
Aditya spun around, water dripping from his hair. “Oh, you think this is funny, do you?”
“Absolutely!” Akriti teased, crossing her arms.
“Let’s see how funny you find this!” Aditya ran toward her, shaking his wet hair in her direction.
“Adi, no!” Akriti shrieked, turning to run, but she wasn’t fast enough. He caught up, flinging water droplets at her.
“That’s for laughing at me,” he said smugly, grinning at her now-wet dupatta.
“You’re impossible!” Akriti glared at him, though her lips twitched into a smile.
Just then, Mona returned with another bucket. “Don’t forget the bride!” she yelled, pouring water over Akriti’s head.
“Monaaaa!” Akriti screamed, standing frozen as water dripped from her hair and *lehenga*.
“Now you match jiju!” Mona laughed, dodging Akriti’s attempts to grab her.

“Time for round two!” one cousin declared, and the boys brought out even more buckets.
Aditya’s cousin reyan called out, “Let’s make this memorable!”
Before Aditya could react, they grabbed him, making him drop his jacket on the ground. “What are you guys doing now?” he asked suspiciously.
“We’re upgrading you, bro!” one cousin shouted as they grabbed his already-soaked kurta and tore it off.
“Seriously? My *kurta*?!” Aditya yelled, trying to swat their hands away.
“This is what you get for being the groom!” another cousin laughed, tossing the torn fabric aside.
Meanwhile, Akriti tried to sneak away, but Mona spotted her. “Oh no, you’re not getting off that easy!”
“I’ve had enough water for a lifetime, Mona!” Akriti protested, backing away.
