The engagement function was an intimate affair, attended only by close family members. The ambiance was warm, filled with laughter, teasing, and a deep sense of love that bonded everyone together. After the ring ceremony, Aditya and Akriti took the dance floor, swaying to a soft, romantic melody that seemed to echo their emotions perfectly. Their chemistry was undeniable, their eyes locked as if no one else in the world existed.
As the evening drew to a close, the Rathore family began preparing to leave. Tradition dictated that the couple would not see each other again until the wedding. This added a bittersweet note to their farewells, but Aditya wasn’t ready to let go just yet.
Finding an opportunity amidst the bustling crowd, he pulled Akriti to a quiet corner behind a pillar.
“Adi! Someone will see us,” Akriti whispered, her voice laced with a mix of nervousness and amusement as she tried to push him away.
“What am I doing? Just the same as everyone else—bidding goodbye to my fiancée,” Aditya teased, stepping closer to her with a playful smirk. His closeness caused her back to press against the cold pillar, making her pulse quicken.
“Adi, you know we can’t do this,” Akriti said, her cheeks flushed. She tried to sound stern, but her voice was soft, betraying her resolve. “We agreed—no touching until the wedding!”
“I haven’t touched you yet,” Aditya argued with an innocent expression, even as his face inched closer to hers. He clasped his hands behind his back and tilted his head. “See? My hands are right here.”
“You’re literally pinning me against a pillar!” Akriti retorted, her voice a low whisper, trying not to draw attention. “And… your… *umm*... is poking me!” She trailed off, her face heating up as she referred to the obvious evidence of his desire for her.
Aditya chuckled, his deep voice sending shivers down her spine. “Well, that’s not my fault. It’s because of you. You’ll probably say I’m being shameless and cruel now, and then you’ll punish me even more.” He leaned in, his forehead resting against her neck, his breath warm against her skin.
Akriti bit her lip, trying to suppress a smile. “You’ve handled it before during our long-distance phase. Just treat these fourteen days like that. We’ll talk, chat, and video call, just like the old days. You’ll survive.”
