Chapter 32: making amends

We have been back from are little get away to Italy for about a week now. It was amazing I'm so grateful for Leah and everything she has done for me. We haven't talked about the night where I got drunk and things have been a little tense lately so I'm making a surprise dinner for Leah. With the help of Cole of course.

Leah has went round to Viv's and Beth's house for  a catch up in other words to have a gossip. Leaving me with the perfect opportunity to surprise Leah with dinner as a thank you for sticking by my side and understanding me in ways other people don't. I also want to talk about the night on holiday and clear the air a bit I want her to know that I want to get better for her for cole and for myself. I don't want to keep getting drunk to drown out the pain of my past I need to focus on the present on what really matters cole and Leah.

I stop off at the shops the grab some essentials flowers candles and chocolates. I hope she will like it. I really want to make this special for her she deserves it I know I don't really do much to show that I love her but I hope this will show how much she really means to me. I also have something else planned for tonight a question I have wanted to ask for a while but not had enough confidence to ask her but tonight I will ask her.

I walk back into my house setting the bag on the table taking a moment to think about how I'm going to set everything up I have no clue where to start and as if cole had heard my thoughts I hear his loud voice echo around my house making his presence well known.

"I'm here" he shouts making his way into the kitchen and plonking himself on the kitchen table.

"Help me I have no clue where to start" I say starting to get the things out of the bag hoping Cole will know what to do. I'm not good at this romantic thing.

"Alright just take a deep breath you're stressing me out just looking at you" he says letting a little chuckle out at my state.

"Sorry I just don't know what to do it needs to be perfect" I say heading to the fridge and picking out the things I need to cook dinner. I just hope it will taste nice I'm not the best cook.

"How about you set the table and I'll start on the food don't stress lex it will be perfect I promise" Cole says immediately stepping into action.

Whilst he's doing that I take the opportunity to text Leah to see how she's doing I would be lying if I said I didn't miss her. I send her a quick text asking her how things are going and that I miss her and love her. She replies almost instantly saying she misses me to and things are going well. A smile makes its way onto my face.

"Alright lover girl get off the phone and set the table up" Cole say snatching the phone out of my hand a smirk plastered on his face.

I give him the finger before I start to set up the table placing a few candles in the middle of the table with the flowers and the chocolates places perfectly next to it.

Once I had set the table re arranging things a few times just so it was perfect I finally finish with a smile on my face admiring my hard work. It's not much but I hope she will like it.

Whilst Cole is finishing making dinner I take this as my opportunity to go get dressed. I make my way upstairs placing a few outfits on my bed. I pick between a short red dress and a white one. I opt on the red one since it's Leah's favourite colour and she always says she loves me in the colour red. I apply some light makeup not to much I don't fancy going all out.

I make my way downstairs Cole's plating up the food I have to give it to him it looks really nice.

"Thank you so much for this Cole" I say pulling his into a hug which he gladly accepts.

"It's ok lex I'm happy to help you look beautiful by the way" he say taking in my appearance with a smile on his face.

"Thank you I just hope Leah will like everything" I say I know she will but I can't help but wonder.
