Present Day
"Now Katie girl you are not a public figure in the social or business word and will needs to move out of your comfort zone to do so and be taken seriously. Are you ready for that?" Liam help his sister at arm's length and studied her. He was thankful he would not need to take over as CEO. None of the Fitzgerald or O'Brien brothers wanted that but wanted this business to remain a Private Family business. Now knowing that when they were at the lowest as a family and business, his baby sister was the one to step up in a big way. She, not their mother, was the one who saved them from having to go public, which none of them wanted. They liked having complete control of the family business and the capital to back that up. No may in the business world could say that and be successful, but the Fitzgerald and the O'Brien's were now the leaders in their industry and both respected and feared. Little Kathleen who that sometimes-called Katie or Clover who could not even drink legally yet was the true power behind taking them from that stage to all being multi-millionaires. He was looking at Katie as she watched him. She studied his face with a look he had never seen before. "Liam, I stepped up long ago and now I want to take my place beside the rest of the family in the sun." she said showing the sophisticated woman she and grew up to be. He felt guilt that none of them knew the real Katie, but vowed silently the family would be by her side from now on and support her in the next steps int her future.
"Well ok then. Mom let's get the CEO transfer papers signed this week. We need to tell the rest of the family and then start your comping out celebration to the word" he said with sincerity and pride while walking towards the doors of this mother's study.
"Wait Liam. We can get the papers signed this week in private. Friday let's have a family dinner celebration. I am taking the bar exam tomorrow and will have the results Friday and would like to surprise everyone all at one. This will be the last degree / academic achievement for a while as I put 100% of my time and energy into both Fitzgerald and the O'Brien's as long as everyone is on board."
"The Bar? "Liam asked looking confused.
"Well, yes you see I have also been studying law with a special interest in corporate law and take the Bar exam tomorrow. I do not plan to practice other than through the business, but saw the wisdom in knowing the law, understanding it more for contracts and protecting the family and our businesses and overall interests." She said in a rush to explain with her cheeks turning as red as her hair.
Lim's, mouth came open and their mother chuckled. "I hope you boys can appreciate all your sister has achieved and can do. I will be relying on you all you boys to watch her because as soon as she come out and makes herself know not only as the gorgeous young, off the charts brilliant women she is men will flock to her." Nora teased them both with her tone and words.
"Mother!" both Liam and Kathleen said at the same time and Nora just openly laughed. Walking out of the room to let her children speak in private.
Liam watched their mother do and knew that her words were try. His sister would be the most eligible bachelorette as soon as word got out. Not only because of her being the new CEO of Fitzgerald Enterprises, young, beautiful and intelligent, but also the power she has as the princess of the Fitzgerald and the O'Brien's families. He, his brother and cousin would all need to be on board looking out for her best interest.
Kathleen and Liam spent the next couple of hours really talking and discussing their approach to the family. The next morning was Tuesday and Liam when into the office with his mother to get a few things done before they both made their way to the courthouse later that afternoon where they would be meeting with their Attorney and a judge to sign over the family business to his sister. She would be meeting them there. Nora wanted the documents to be irrefutable. Liam was going along to witness and as a show of his full support. That along with having a judge sign as a witness and beyond contention.
