Katie had her driver take her over to the court house where she had made arrangements to meet with a judge, the Bruns's and Mr. Williams. Mr. William's signed the legal papers giving her immediate ownership and would receive access to the trust
held for the sale of the property. What he did not know was that this was a legal maneuver on her end.
She had, had Mr. Jones tip off anonymously the supplies and other contractors Mr. Williams used of a high valued property sale and that would result in an injection of access to the funds because as a result. Mr. William's was walking out of the judges' chambers when an attorney on behalf of the collective trades and venders service him with papers. Apparently, he owed them close to 1.5 million in total for past and present jobs under contract and now pulse the cost of legal feels. Katie did not stop to listen and faked disinterests. Carol and Justin paused for a moment, but seeing Katie not break stride they quickly continued.
"Was that your doing" Carol asked just above a whisper to Katie.
"I'm not sure what that was about, but I'm sure it's none of our business." Katie said in case anyone was lessening.
Once in the car through she winked at the realtors "Its not right others would be put out for jobs done as agreed upon. I am wiring funds to your business account now for all the work you have done as stated in the contract for your commission" Katie said. Carol and Justin looked at each other and knew Ms. Fitchered just put Mr. Williams in check on this life version of chess. Katie insisted on taking them to an early dinner at 4 Leaf Clover to celebrate. She called Justin to see if he would meet them there. Justin said he would meet them. Then she called Brady's resultant to reserve the private dining room.
Katie and the Burns arriver and were seater. They just ordered a few appetizers and some drinker when Justin arrived at the restaurant with a Ms. Emily Brooke who Katie knew was a good person and because of her mother often found herself in company of Sarah Williams. The poor girl.
"Emily, you know my friends Carol and Justin" James said to Emily. They he turned to Katie and introduced the two of them. "It's lovely to meet you, Emily." Katie said with a genuine smile. James has confessed to Katie that he like Emily for a while now. She was glad he finally made a move and asked her out. She felt back to calling him now and interrupting their date plans. "Well, Kathleen congratulation on closing your first deal as an Attorney for a client" Justin said with a wink keeping the secret of the "client". She was thankful for that. The two couples and Katie laughed and talked for a couple of hours before calling it a night.
When Katie got home her entire family was there and they stayed up in the living room going over Katies plans for the property, and what happened with Williams.
Ryan mentioned the he walked to the four people he was thinking would be perfect for her security staff. It was two sister Nina and Kelly who were retired army. They where both capable of playing the part of security well but looking discrete like friends or even assistances. "That would be perfect for the day to day and through could rotate off when the other in on and with the security at the office when I am in the building" Katie explained. "I also have a Tylor Bridger who a little older and former police officer from Chicago. He left the force due to an injury to his leg. He is fine now, but it took years of therapy. He applied and was looking for a more relaxed atmosphere. "Do you think he would be interested in working the night shift at my building as the security/door man? I have that back studio room that would be set up for a single person." I can ask him, but I think that would be a fine fit for him an what he was looking for, but while still feeling like her was working. The fact that it would be for a member of our family would only help him feel more secure.
"Lastly I interviewed a Mason Wells who was with a security company out west. He interviewed remotely as he is looking for work before moving. He needs to get his sister out of Nevada. Her ex-husband was abusive and he did not wait to wait for the ass hole to make another mover after he put her in the hospital the last time. She got a restraining order, but they do not stop someone like her ex from the sound of it.
"Well, if they both pass your background test and you trust them, I say hire him as head of my personal security. If he does not mind sharing an apartment with his sister let him know an apartment with basic furnishings are included in his contract. I will draw up the documents and have them for you to provide to him by the end of the week. If money is a factor, then I will even add in a moving expense and travel as a sign on bonus so they are here in a week. That will get them away from the ex-sooner." Katie said hurriedly. She hated bullies and wanted to help this woman in any way she could. If her brother was willing to move across the country for her then he was a good one in her book. "Do you have any information on the sister? What does she do?" Katie asked seeing if she would help her find a job when she was ready.
"She had her own catering and cleaning company. She only had a few employees that helped, but her ex-husband destroyed her reputation despite the good review from clients." Ryan said looking at his phone reading the information. "Wow, this is perfect. When you talk to him as if she would be interested in working for me too as my personal chef and housekeeper. You all know I don't mind cooking and cleaning, but prefer not to." Katie though everything was just falling into place for her. She took out her phone and made a note to have Samuel start with the 1st floor studio, the 4th and 9th floor apartment. She would be staying with her mom in their family home until everything else was done anyway and wanted to have her staff's homes done first.
"Sounds like a plan little Clover. I will contract them all tomorrow and let you know." Ryan said tapping on his phone.
Her family talked for a little while longer before Katie called it a night. She said good night to her brothers and cousin who were all getting up also reading to go home to their apartments.
