When Katie got to the office the next day Emma had her coffee waiting for her. They went into Katie's office and when over a proposal idea that her brother Finn had put together. I was with a solar company. It was an eco-friendly startup company. They had developed and way to improve and tap into the existing power supply with limited interface but allowing for the solar panel to charge and power a street or outside lighting system before using any electricity off the power grid. It was genies really and if it worked as described then it would save cities, taxpayers, business thousands a year all over the country depending on the area and weather. She sent off a message to Finn to have the company Street Solar to put together a presentation for them and so they could discuss it more. She wanted to know the basic process with pattens behind the innovation, see a test and some study results, city power supply needs and a breakdown of per town (using Midtown as an example), and the numbers of how much their system could handle on in different weather and times of year.

Finn said he would contact them and asked them to set that up and get back to them with a date they could present their finding.

"Kathleen, I brought the copy of my lease as your requested. I'll leave it here on your desk for later." Emma stated putting a two-page document in her inbox. "I need a break from this so let's look at it now" Katie said reaching for the document. She read it through and noted the dates and terms of the lease. She pulled up her computer and the city plan and permits she asked Paula to get for her yesterday.

"Ok, there is not issue legally in breaking your lease. It was smart of you to send a certified copy to your landlord of your half-sister coming to live with you and her current disability. Knowing your good standing on your rent, parental needs of a disability teen and given the few months that have past you are able to break your lease with no penalty or reproduction. The building has no handy cap safety installed, and since your sister is still after over sixty days being treated by a physician and physical therapist who have recommended wheel chair friendly guidelines this voids the needs to stay there. You are within your rights to seek other arrangement and are intuited to your security deposit back along with no fees in breaking your lease. This lease if a basic one, but the city and state lease/rental guideless trump what is not said here." Katie stated and pulled out a red folder with the city and state lease/rental guideless in regards to child care and disability resulting mid lease. "I think you and Haylee should start packing, but keep in quiet for now until you are finished packing." That won't be hard Haylee stated packing last night, but most of her things where still in boxes from when she moved in with me. I stated last night and even has some things packed already to make more room for Haylee's things and some I sold to help pay for her medical bills and our parents funerals." Emma admitted ashamed of just how little they had. "How long would it take you to pack the rest of the apartment?" Katie inquired hating all that they had gone through. "I could have the rest packed up by the Saturday I think." Emma was glad they did not have must to try to transport. She could probable kit most of it in her car in just two or three trips. Well not including the big furniture, like the beds and sofa.

"Ok, here is what we'll do. You and Haylee pack up what you can. Don't worry about the big future. The apartment you will be moving into come equip with the basics like beds, sectional and dressers. I already mentioned to Mr. Jones about Haylee's needs as recommended by the Americans with Disabilities Act standards for accessible design. He was starting today on making sure that the doors, doorways, bathroom would be more accessible. I did not want to have everything permanently designed that way as the goal it for Haylee to walk again. It might only depress her seeing the evidence of a permanent wheel chair set up. From what I understand from research that you cannot give up hope and believing you in the goal to walk again in one third the battle. Talk to about all this and let her know so if she overhears about the conversation for the landlord, we will have on Monday she is not blindsided and truly understands that that it's not a bad thing, but we are using it to advantage." Katie cautioned and Emma nodded her understanding and could just see a teenager blowing up at the realization without being in the know.
