Katie ended up buying a painting a field of clovers with is river running through it and what looked like and old Irish castle in the background.
The next morning. Nora walked up the stairs to her daughter room. It was a long night last night, but it will be even more of a long week ahead. Nocking and peaking in she saw her daughter still in bed. She rushed over thinking something was wrong. Katheen never slept in. "Kathleen, are you sick?" She asked reaching out to touch her forehead. "No mom, I just did not want to get up yet. It just kind of all hit me that todays is the day the whole family, all the people I lover most in this word is going to see the real me." Trepidation was leaking into her voice. "I mean, this was always the plan when I finished my law degree and assed the Bar, but it never felt real until now. Also, everything last night with meeting the Williams family officially, and with that Collins family. Mom, I wanted to cry last night hearing my brothers and cousins acknowledge me in a room full of people. The feeling to being connected and accepted was overwhelming." She hugged her mother.
"Its about time. You know that we all love you and respected you enough to let you be in the background. They all stayed over last night in their old rooms and I heard them talking in the study as I was coming up to bed. They feel guilty for the past and not pushing you more to be you. The smart, beautiful, kind person you are more. Those in our world, friends, business associates should have all know you on sight growing up. The boys also see the need to protected your more now then ever. Now come on lazy. Time for a family breakfast. "Nora said getting up and walking to her daughters' closet. She pulled out a white summer dress and hung it up. Groaning Kathleen got up and walked into her bathroom to get ready for the day. She knew better then to disappoint her mother.
Forty minutes later she walked into the open style informal dinning room in her mother's home. She was greeting with a course of "hellos" and good morning" from her family.
She sat down at then end of the table. Her phone pinged and she looked down. With a shaking hand she picked it up and read through her email. "Clover girl are you ok?" Her brother Finn was watching her. Kathleen looked up and turned to her mother and Liam who were sitting at the other end talking with Ryan. "I passed top 1%" was all she said. Nora, Liam, Patrick, Aiden and Ryan all got up and rushed over to her. Aiden pulled her up and into his arms for a hug. "That's wonderful Katie, we are all so proud of you." Nora's eyes misted over as she was side hugged by Patrick. They all hugged her and contributed her.
She heard the others Finn, Brady and Declan all asking what was going on. "Ok, everyone sit down and finish your breakfast before it gets cold and I will start to explain" Her mother said to them all.
They all sat and resumed eating. All except for Katie who was too nervous now. She just sipped her tea.
"There is a lot to explain and go over. A family secrets." Nora started then quickly added when the boys all frowned." Nothing bad and really the saving grace of this family. Alan, Connor and Celest all knew about it. If fact it started with us." She paused for moment as the twinge of sadness that filled all their hearts even five years later.
"Ok, you all know we trust you boys and love you all unconditionally, right?" she saw each nod will with worry on their faces.
"You are all so much outgoing and charismatic and some much older then the youngest." She said now sitting next to her daughter holding out her hand as a show of comfort. "Kathleen, here is a certified genius."
With that start Nora laid it all out from the time she was twelve. Bring the boys all up to date of the last 8 years of her life, achievements, everything (except being the new CEO). Declan asked "what did you mean when you said, "I passed top 1%" he asked at the statement that prompted this reveal. "Well, these past two years I have been studying Law with an emphasis on corporate and contacts. I took the Bar exam earlier this week. The result just came in and I passed top 1%. I am now able to practice law as an Attorney." She spoke with wonder in her own voice.
