Monday

When Katie got to the office on Monday Emma was already working. She was on the phone with someone calling to get and appointment. Aidan had made sure to syce Katie's calendar to Emma's access so she would know her schedule. "I am sorry Mr. Williams, but I am not seeing that Ms. Fitzgerald has an availability to see you today." Emma spoke as Katie walked up. "I am sorry Sir, but her schedule is booked for this week" Emma continued and Katie Nodded. She grabbed a pen and stick note and wrong to always claim she was unavailable when it comes to the Williams and passed Emma the note. Emma nodded and stated again, "Mr. Williams, Ms. Fitzgerald is quite busy as she has the new CEO of Fitzgerald Enterprise. She was not committing to new apartments for the time being. I hope you understand and have a wonderful day." Emma said sweetly and then hung up. Katie could hear Williams was still talking when the phone clicked into the receiver.

"Thank Emma, you handled him beautifully. He was not going to stop and would have continued to bully you." Katie said with a sign. She took out her phone and sent a message to security to make sure that the Williams family was not allowed into the building. She would have put it past him to try.

"No problem Ms. Fitzgerald. I saw on your calendar and notes from the Meeting with him on Friday and figured he would call first thing." Emma rolled her eyes as the phone rang again. "It's his office line again" she said to Katie. "Let it ring and come with me to get a coffee from the break room then we can talk in my office. I think Mr. Williams will be the only one calling today so I'm not concerned. The call with be routed to the switchboard and he will be transferred back over and over again, until he gives up for now." Katie motioned to the coffee counter. They each grabbed and coffee and walked into the CEO's office and sat down.

"Now, I have your employee contract here. Feel free to take your time and read it through. You will notice that the pay rate is only 5% more than your previous salary. You would not be a direct employee of Fitzgerald Enterprise anymore, but hired directly by me. Your salary would be paid be me personally. In addition, you will also notice that the position comes with and apartment. This is how I am getting around the legal ramifications of this arrangement without causing issue with other people in the company. Because of your importance on the position in working with me, the possible hours, sensitive nation and relational ship/trust I am putting on you this is best." Katie said and before Emma could say anything when into what she had been up to this past week and all about the building she bought on W 36t St.

Emma and Hailee would live in this building at not cost and that all utilities are included. Katie also went into explain that their would-be times although far and few that Emma would need to assist during not office hours. Like with K's Place, functions and meeting. "You will still have all the same benefits as working for Fitzgerald Enterprise. The paperwork will get be separate from the rest of HR her at the company. I also want to assure you that I would never run your ragged as some others do to their personal secretaries in this position. I do not plan or working my youth away and will not tolerate any employees for me or Fitzgerald Enterprise doing it." Katie said and stated laughing at the look of shock on Emma's face. "I'm sorry she said once she could speak. The look on your face is priceless and I home in a good way." Not really looking for an answer.

"Mr. Fitzgerald I am honored and am not afraid of hard work or long hours." Emma said quickly. "In all seriousness, please read through the documents and please ask me if you have any questions or would like me to have someone else from HR or legal come up to talk to you" Katie said "Actually I am going to have Paula come up here anyway to go over something else so when she comes up, please come in with her. I have a few calls to make this morning before then." Katie said while Emma got up and walked out to, the secretary's desk to ready through and take notes of questions. She trusted Ms. Fitzgerald, but understood business was business and wanted to make sure she knew all that would be required or needed. It would not be wise to clearly know all the facts with a position like this. There would be a lot riding on descension and confidentiality.
