1. AVOID HAWKINS POOL AT ALL COSTS. I know, a warm day in July, nothing more appealing in that moment is a dip in a cool pool. Think about it though, who hangs out at public pools? I'll tell you who - snotty, pissy-pant kids, middle-aged women and predators. Slipping into that cool pool is just asking for some kind of disease. That pool hasn't been cleaned since it was built (Pre-something old, I don't pay attention to Ms Click.) Who wants to be attacked by a chunky 8-year-old while contracting herpes? Not me.
2. Here's a legit cure to heatstroke - ice cream. No herpes, no chunky 8-year-olds and no predators. I, a pre-Yale youth, plan on eating my body weight in ice cream. Chocolate? Yes. Vanilla? Maybe. Strawberry? Absolutely. Rum raisin? ...ew, I'll pass. I'll indulge in a banana split or a milkshake on the rare occasion though.
3. Music. There's a new music shop opening in the mall, filled to the brim with new vinyls, cassettes and artists. Blondie, Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Maia and I plan on travelling into Indianapolis for a few gigs during the summer. The soundtrack for this summer is epic.
4. My hand is numb and my brain is empty, so pretend this has something of substance in it. Just take the following list into consideration and help me cure my boredom (please).
5. Dnd, bike rides, painted nails, baking, swim in the lake, s'mores, sleep 'til noon, redecorate room, go to the carnival, watch July 4th fireworks, watch a sunset, watch a sunrise, pull an all-nighter, crash by noon, get bangs, work (BLEH), prep for Yale, box-dye hair.
