"Papá, ¿te acuerdas cuando pedí permiso para ir a la fiesta debut de mi mejor amigo? ( Papa, have you remembered when I asked permission about going to my Best Friend's debut party?)." I even walked inside their room just to ask this while he was busy signing some papers for the wine business. Papa firstly removed his glasses and rubbed his eyes before giving his attention to me.

"No lo recuerdo ( I don't remember)." He replied and I thought maybe because of work they forgot that I asked them about this.

"Chris's birthday is coming on three days and I just wanted to make sure if you guys are allowing me to go to his debut party." I said with proper gestures and he just stared at me for a while before he could finally answer.

"Who is this Chris?" He suspiciously asked and I kind of rolled my eyes with haste because I've already introduced him to them and they don't seemed to remember that I have him as my best friend.

"Papa, don't you remember the man I introduced to you months ago?" I asked while controlling my temper. Whenever I am asking permission about going somewhere, they always ask me tons of questions.

I have been a perfect girl in their eyes. I follow all of their wants--and maybe some of it are unfollowed. But dominantly, I consistently follow the rules they provided me to have a...unsurely great future, and they still didn't trust me.

"You've already introduced a man? I don't remember having a special dinner for that." Papa said and I am now having the urge to put my palm on my face.

"Amo a mis padres, amo a mis padres, amo a mis padres, amo a mis padres. (I love my parents, I love my parents, I love my parents, I love my parents)." I repeatedly whispered that to myself as I was restraining my extreme emotions that are about to burst out.

"Honey, what are you saying?" He suddenly said when he caught me murmuring so I was taken aback. I bit my lip and breath properly before I answer my father.

Ang hirap-hirap magpaalam. Kung hindi nga maayos nga lamang ang kondisyon ni mama ay nakailang beses na akong tumatakas ng bahay. "Papa, I did not introduced a romantic partner yet, but I already introduced my best friend--which is a man just like I said." I emphasized every word to him so that he could understand. However, I'm so already done when papa gave me a confused look again.

"Papa it's really hard to ask permission and I'm starting to think that you don't trust your own daughter." I said--a little disappointed with my father--but my eyes softened when I heard him sighed like he was really tired.

I am just asking a simple permission. Why is it hard for them to let me have some fun for a meantime?

"Me and you mother trust you with all of our heart, honey. I know you can handle yourself alone, but your mother do not trust the people outside. She's always worried about what might people do to you, especially that you are gifted with such unique beauty." He said and I wasn't able to speak or make any gestures just to respond.

I took me seconds close to minute and I finally got an idea on how to convince them. "Papa, seems like you don't know Chris, but do you know Christopher Aurelius Escareal? The son of Architect Sergio Escareal." I asked and his eyes widen when he heard the last name of a certain persons that I mentioned.

Perhaps, he knew them already.

"Next time, do tell the full names. I'm bad at remembering nicknames, but okay I'm fine with it. Just make sure your mother also knows." I smiled widely when I find that effective.
