A Better World With You

Chapter 16

Tonight, I look like a little girl having her cats around her bed while watching a disney movie, Princess and a Frog. I have all of my time as of now since I don't have any activities tonight. The four cats are beside me, quietly lying in the bed.

Gia and Gella are on my right side, while Niki and Cole are on my left side. Then Gian is in the middle, which is particularly in my head. Since he's the smallest, he fits my head perfectly so that's why he's sleeping peacefully, like it was a perfect bed for him.

We are already in the part where Tiana and Prince Naveen are looking for Mama Odie to break the spell caused by the evil voodoo, together with Louis the crocodile, and Ray the firefly. I mean age doesn't matter when you're watching this kind of movie, right? It's just, this has become my comfort movie after all because the whole scenes about Tiana and Prince Naveen are wholesome.

I somehow see myself with Tiana who doesn't really need a man in her life and just wanted to work hard for her dreams independently. However, I wish my mother would be someone like hers, who supports her with everything even though it is sometimes against her will.

I wish I could also feel safe whenever I'm with a famous man. Tiana was with Prince Naveen, and at the end they are married to one another without hatred coming from most of the people. They have both families who accept them. There is a supportive girl best friend even though she once liked Prince Naveen and was bound to marry to make her a princess.

Sometimes, I wish upon a star to escape reality and just live with my fairytale dreams where I can feel the comfort. However, it's ephemeral, for they are just escapism to survive the cruel world.

"Hey dude!" I heard voices from outside and took a peek of what's happening. Looks like Cyril's party are having more and more guests. But I heard the sudden sound of an opening door and I got startled when ate Lori called my name.

"George! Are you going to Cyril's house?" Ate Lori said with excitement, but I just shook my head. I think it will make me uncomfortable if I join in.

"Oh come on, George. Loosen up and have fun. You need this." Ate Lori said as she holds both of my hands and caressing them. But I then shook my head saying no. With that, Ate Lori gave me a frowned face.

"Mabilis lang tayo." Pamimilit pa niya sa'kin at bumuntong ako ng hininga kasi kanina pa ako nagsasabi na ayaw ko.

"I already said no, and its final." I said and this time, she knew she can't do anything with it. So she just gave me a kiss in the forehead and smiled.

"Just don't drown yourself to loneliness, George. I'm always worried about you." Ate said and I nodded as I roam my eyes to the party outfit she's wearing, to the makeup details in her face.

She's wearing a white wrap top and black low-waisted jeans that gives emphasis on her shape. She has enough of gold and silver jewelries on her neck, tummy, wrist and hand. Her hair is straight and silky and her face looks glamorous with make up. And the black glimmering high heels completes the look.

My ate is growing beautifully. "Don't worry about me. I'm having a simple party with my cats here. And by the way, I love your look tonight. You're slaying." I said with pride and she chuckled at my statement.

"Yeah right?! Thank you for loving my look sis!" She said while having an outfit check. After a few more talks, ate already decided to go to the party to have fun with other relatives and strangers. Hindi ko na naman siya pinigilan at hinayaan na lamang siyang umalis. Pagkatapos non ay bumalik na lang ulit ako sa aking higaan at kinuha ang remote para makapili na ng bagong movie na pwedeng mapanood. Subalit may narinig naman akong tatlong katok sa aking pintuan.
