Life is erratic. Neither do we have the slightest idea what the next moment holds, nor are we sure whether the plans formed for the next day will be executed as per the plan. Because all we have at the end is hope - hope to believe that in the end, everything happens for a reason.

I agreed to the same when my entire schedule formed for this week didn't turn out as planned because my health wasn't ready to cooperate with the demands of my work, putting them off.

Luckily I am back on track after recovering from the fever caused by fatigue, back-to-back travel, and a change in weather conditions.

“Garv Sir, are you attending the music launch party of Samaira Khanna?” asked Hriday, taking a seat on the couch positioned on the left side of my bed. Meanwhile I was busy scrolling through the pictures in my gallery.

“When is it?” My eyes moved peeking at him munching aloo paratha.

“Hriday, you should hit the gym.” I mocked, showing my biceps covered by a half-sleeved t-shirt.

“Compromising food has no place in my dictionary” He took a bite aiming to fill his mouth clearly reflecting zero effects of my words.

I returned to my phone screen recalling I hadn't found the date of the party as mentioned by him.

“When is Samaira’s event?” I inquired, waiting for this response to let me know the details.

“This Saturday”

I nodded and instructed him to forward the details to Muskaan to be ready with the outfit.

“Good afternoon Garv” Her voice caught my attention on the doorstep, watching her enter the room. Her lips curved and formed a brimming smile, a tantalizing brightness radiated sending light enough to engulf the darkest room.

“Good afternoon Avantika” I welcomed her, keeping my phone aside. Hriday rose from the couch and walked out of the room after closing the door, giving us privacy.

Curiousness entered my mind finding her at my place at this time. She is supposed to be at her duty.

“You must be wondering what am I doing here?” She walked, unfastening the watch from her left wrist.

I nodded eagerly waiting for her answer. Her hands removed her bag from her shoulder, shoving the watch inside of it, and headed towards the bathroom maybe to wash her hands. She is a clean freak after all.

I noticed her exiting the closet door as one had to go through it to reach there. Finding a vacant space beside me, she made herself comfortable wrapping her arms around my body, and took a deep breath “Anisha has asked us to close the case” The frustration was evident in her voice.
