Our engagement photo was displayed on the home screen of my desktop, lips curved up reminiscing the memories of that day, putting rings on each other’s fingers, our eyes cleverly conveying our feelings among everyone without using verbal expressions.

Come soon, Ava. Your Garv is missing you.

More than 20 million people reside in the city that never sleeps even at night but my heart yearned for her. It has been six days since Ava left for her home. After being as busy as Beaver the entire week due to out of the blue Jayant’s demand to submit the song, I finally breathed a fresh air of relief this evening.

10.40 pm.

The digital clock placed on my table informed me of the time. She must be back home after shopping.

Unlocking my phone, the photo clicked before the concert's commencement displayed as wallpaper.

The blossoming red blush spread over her cheeks, her hands circled my neck, her gaze resting on my face and her red-painted lips lifted forming a smile. Suddenly, my cheeks heated up when my mind struck with our kissing moments.

Garv, stop. Don’t think about it.

Heading towards the call logs, I tapped on her name icon and got up, walking near the studio window, looking out at the night sky shimmering with bright city lights.

“Hi, Mr.Chauhan” Her euphonious voice answered the call.

“Mr.Chauhan?” I asked surprisingly, hearing her addressing me formally.

“Aap Mr.Chauhan.”

I blinked believing her words.

“Mumma, kya hua?” Her voice was audible and I remained silent. “Mai woh Aaru se baat kar rahi thi.” I giggled hearing her lying to her mother.

(What happened, Mumam? I am on a call with Aaru)

“Mumma, please. Unse baat kar rahi hu. Please jaona.” She disclosed this after her numerous attempts to hide the truth.

(I am talking to him. Please go)

Her mother’s voice was vagued, perhaps the phone distance could be the reason. Hearing the noise of closing door, I heard her speaking again “Yes Jaan-e-mann”

“Finally my Ava is back” I announced, gazing at the stars twinkling in the sky.

“Actually I had so many things to do today but happy news. I am done with my shopping. Will receive my poshaks on 28th” I listened to her silently, without hurdling her words.

“You know what Jaan-e-mann, I am coming to Mumbai tomorrow” The news lightened up my mood but I stopped screaming.

“Are you serious?”
