"Jaan-e-mann," I called him, settling on the dining table. "Where are you?"I looked for him. But he wasn't present. I picked up my phone and dialled his number.
"Sorry, Ava. I was brushing my teeth."He said, taking a seat in the vacant chair beside me.
"What's the time?" he asked as his hand reached for the butterknife.
I tapped on my phone screen. It turned bright. "7. 28am." I read the same.
"Here," he placed the bread on my plate. "Officer Avantika must not be on an empty stomach on her duty."
I nodded but I was in no mood to eat anything. But I had to, for him. My eyes stared at the plate as I picked up the bread. Before I could stuff it inside my mouth, the phone ring halted me.
Roy Sir.
The name flashed on the screen.
I placed the piece of food back and swiped up the answer icon and answered, "Good morning Sir."
"Good morning Avantika. You had a tough time in the last few days while facing the entire situation, especially after whatever happened with Arisa." I listened to him while Garv tapped on my shoulder. His hand actioned to put it on the speaker.
I shook my head and shot him a stare. His finger motioned to zip his mouth. He twisted his imaginary key and tossed it back.
"Are you there, Officer Avantika?"
"Yes Sir," I replied, making an effort to understand his abrupt behavior change.
"I'm granting you two days leave. Come back stronger. Take care." He hung up the call without giving me a chance to speak.
I watched my husband catching something in the air and his fingers joined together to unlock the imaginary lock with the key and pulled open his imaginary zip.
"You should've chosen acting instead of this music industry." I raised my brow and a smirk appeared on the corner of my lips.
"Hm," he nodded considering my words. "Only if you were my co-actor in every movie I signed for." He slid his chair closer and his breath fanned over my ear as he tilted, " Because only you have that right to claim the ownership to kiss, devour, and savour my lips. No one else."
My breath hitched as I swallowed down through my throat.
"Stop it." I slapped him on his arms and resumed to finish my breakfast.
