The irregular blinks welcomed her statement. Baffling, hearing her condition to kiss her in front of everyone, my eyes moved swiftly scanning the surroundings to capture what everyone was up to. Some engaged in chit-chats accompanied with drinks, some danced their hearts out on the dance floor but a portion of all the members here were watching us, unsure whether they heard her words.
"Jaan-e-mann" Her unsteady speech called me, her black eyes gazing, waiting for me to accept her words obediently.
My hand waved, calling for Hriday, who approached quickly as the response. "Shut the main fuse" I made sure my words were audible for him, not even her. He nodded following my words, I pulled her closer, waiting for him to execute my plan.
Darkness surrounded us and I kissed her lips before the flashlights emitted by the phones could ruin my plan. The murmuring filled the silence but as soon as our lips detached, the power returned.
"I accepted it. Be a good girl and let's go home " I stated. My hands carried her, making my way to the car. Hriday joined us and suggested using the back gate to avoid the media capturing us, especially when she is not in her senses. Standing on the back, I heard her complaining "That doesn't count as a kiss, Jaan" as she gripped the hem of my collar.
"Kiss is a kiss" I stated firmly, noticing Hriday coming with the car. His hand unlocked the car gate, I made her shift to the passenger seat, buckled her seat belt, and made my way to sit next to her, to drive back home.
Hitting the engine, the car left the venue and found itself on the main road. My mind estimated it would take about forty minutes to reach our home.
"Jaan-e- mannnnnnnnn" She sang, raising her hands and slouching a bit on the seat.
"Ava" My eyes shifted, seeing her removing earrings.
" I am hungry. Can I eat something?" She requested innocently, tossing them on the backseat. If she were in her senses, her heart would have failed to witness any damage to her favorite earrings. Never mind, I will buy her a new set.
"I will order for you, once we reach home" I answered, taking a right turn on the road but I sensed her eyes staring at my hands, resting on the steering wheel.
"How does it feel to be so hot, Jaan-e-mann?" Her giggles and words made me choke. The normal Avantika would bury herself under the ground after someone makes her familiar with her drunken state.
"Ava, finger on your lips" I shot my stare but I wanted to hide myself, hearing my fiance's unfiltered words. Though she is straightforward, her undrunk state would never utter these flirty comments.
"Why?" Her mouth widened, "Can't I admire my man's physique?" Her hands crossed against her body and her eyes struggled to stay open.
"You can, only when you are in your senses" I responded, my eyes figuring out the area.
