My mind has quit generating a solution to fix the matter among us. Little did I know, Vihaan’s outlandish silence buried the unfulfilled hopes of settling the predicament caused by me. Every time I tried calling Dhruv since last night after their departure, all I got to know from him was Vihaan's constant attempts to be fine with everything. Even Avantika called me this morning to verify the reason for Vihaan’s anomalous behavior though his efforts attempted to maintain normal behavior.
“Garv Bhabha, we have to leave for their home at 6 pm” Yuvraj informed, setting the sherwani on the sofa after drawing it out from the bag. With no words from my side, I nodded without glancing at him.
Reaching to get my phone from the table, I headed towards a chat section with Vihaan.
Vihaan, I am aware of what you must be feeling right now. No words could ever fix the repetitive actions of us but trust me, I just needed time to let you know about it after consulting it with Avantika. Tbh, Dhruv knows it because Avantika wanted to share her reports with Mrs. Dhruv, and Dhruv, as her husband, accompanied her that day to the restaurant. I am sorry for hurting you, most of the time, with my actions. You know very well I am bad at expressing myself during such situations but I don’t want to lose you as my best friend. PLEASE.
My eyes collected the tears that were on the verge of streaming down. A painful lump formed in my throat. Staring at the phone screen, I wiped my eyes proceeding to tap on the send button.
Sent successfully.
Locking my phone, I got up from my bed and checked the time on the clock hanging on the wall. 1.30 pm. I haven’t eaten anything since morning due to guilt consuming my inner peace. Walking outside the room, I headed towards Mumma’s room though she was piled up with numerous work.
“Garv” Rohini Aunty? It’s her, Vihaan’s mom.
My lips formed a blooming smile noticing her standing in front of my eyes. “Aunty. Thank God, you are here” My voice radiated the serene happiness, pacing my walk to cut down the distance. “Of course, my son is getting married. How am I supposed to miss it?” She expressed, wrapping her arms.
“That’s true,” I said. “Is everything fine? You don’t seem okay.” She questioned, scrutinizing my face. “Yeah. Yeah,” I lied, refusing to disclose the reason.
