Wearing the same poshak I wore during my pheras, I stepped outside the gate leading to the ground floor after completing our post-wedding photoshoot. The ghunghat turned everything red around me, providing a blurry sight of the surroundings.

My husband cleared his throat obtaining my complete attention to his hand, which he offered standing beside me. “Don’t be shy Avanti” He whispered, tilting against me, overlooking the large presence of the guests watching us standing on the stairs.

“Avu, you have to complete your other rituals. Garv jiju, her safety is in your hand before she befriends the floor” Arisa’s taunt reminded everyone of my clumsiness.

Shooting him a stare, my eyes announced that I could walk by myself and I was extremely grateful for his warming gesture.

Holding the hem of the ghunghat designed with the border, my foot attentively walked, stepping down on the stairs only to reach the ground floor where everyone eagerly waited for us to play the ring game. Removing my juttis customized identical to my wedding poshak design, I took a seat on the floor covered by a velvet mat. I glimpsed him sitting beside me maintaining a constrained space between us.

“Chauhans should win” Yuvraj Banna smacked his back, hoping his cousin would win today against me. ‘Avantika Bhabisa, all his honor lies in your hand” His cousin requested but I remained mum.

“Mr. Yuvraj, we are Shaktawats of Udaipur, let me not disclose our ancestors’ glory that you have studied in your school” Kavya countered, flipping her hair after handing over the ring to one of the ladies assigned to conduct the game.

Dropping the ring in the huge rounded bowl, our hands jumped inside with a winning spirit to prove ourselves. “Jamaisa, aapka ek hi haath use ho sakta hai” Vihaan Bhai instructed, earning his silent stare.

“I don’t believe in any rules.” He answered, continuing to hunt the ring. Without his notice, I picked up the ring and held it outside, bringing everyone's attention to the winner of the first round.

Being dumbfounded, his stare accused Vihaan Bhai for hurdling his concentration. One by one, we headed towards the final round after we won twice, individually. The suspenseful atmosphere covered us, creating a nervous feeling as we finalized a deal during our Courtship. We will play this game being fair at our respective places.
