"Suicide?" My senior thinned his brows coming across the report submitted by me.
"Yes sir, Anisha had been in depression for over a year. Her therapist revealed that the sudden loss of her father's death affected her mentally." I informed him of a half-truth.
"Any other findings? Did you find out the places she visited in the last twenty-four hours of life?" Mayank Sir questioned, tapping the end of the pen on the desk and his eyes absorbed in the report.
"She returned to India on the night of February three. On the fourth, she visited a spa to get her manicure done. And after that, no one knew where she was. At eleven on the same night, she called her mother who was in the US. As per the hospital reports, she committed suicide." I narrated a story, half woven by me.
"Even her secretary and driver revealed the same."
Yes, they did as per my plan.
The suicide case of Anisha closed within the first week because luckily, I was handed over with the same. After a mandatory interrogation session, I reported to the higher authorities that only a gun was found at the place with her fingerprints.
Also, we came across her taking several pills and undergoing therapy sessions for her mental illness. That's how I covered up my act into hers.
But my husband avoided meeting me as soon as he gained consciousness.
"Garv, open the door." I banged on. "Garv, I trust you. I know you would never do it."
There was no response.
I fished out my phone and dialled him. He disconnected the same. I tried several times but found no results. I opened the chat section.
Garv, I trust you. Open the door once. Don't spoil our relationship because of that dead Anisha. I made her pay for her deeds.
Hesitatingly, I sent him. For the past seven days, I had been welcomed home with the absence of his spark.
My phone screen displayed Rohan's name. I swiped up the answer icon.
"Hello Rohan,"
"Avantika, Advay is shifted to an orphanage after his mom committed suicide two days back. The reasons are still unknown."
My hands froze and trembled upon hearing the disheartening news. Advay never deserved the harsh reality of his life. Every time his innocent voice echoed in my ears, I reassured myself with the hope that his mother would remain by his side. But, everything shattered when I came across the news of her death.
"You there?" His voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Hmm," I managed to speak undergoing pain in my throat. "Text me the address." That was my last word before cutting the call.
