Nelson Neumann pushed through the front door, his eyes half-closed and his body aching all over. He had been fighting off a nasty flu bug for days, and it was starting to take its toll. His mom greeted him with a warm smile and a steaming cup of hot tea.

"Hey, buddy! How are you feeling?" she asked, taking one look at his pale face.

"Not great," Nelson admitted, flopping down onto the couch. "I think I'm going to die."

His mom chuckled. "Well, let's get you all fixed up then. I'll get you some soup and some meds."

Nelson nodded gratefully, feeling like he was going to collapse onto the couch for good. The past few days had been a blur of fever, coughing fits, and endless Netflix binges. He was starting to lose count of how many days he'd missed school.

Just as he was drifting off to sleep, his phone buzzed with a text from his best friend, y/n.

"Hey, Nels! I've missed you! Hope you're feeling better," the message read.

Nelson smiled weakly and typed out a response. "I'm alive... barely. I miss you too. Hopefully I'll be back in school soon."

y/n replied with a string of worried emojis and asked if Nelson needed anything. Nelson appreciated the concern, but all he could muster was a simple "no thanks" before dozing off again.

The next day, Nelson woke up feeling slightly better. His fever had broken, and he was no longer coughing up a lung every five minutes. His mom made him a hearty breakfast – scrambled eggs and toast – and he ate it all without complaining (much).

As he got dressed and ready for the day, Nelson felt a twinge of guilt for missing so much school. He hated falling behind on his assignments and leaving his friends to deal with everything on their own.

But as he sat back down on the couch with his tablet, he realized that maybe this break wasn't all bad. He could finally catch up on his favorite TV shows without feeling guilty about not doing his homework. And maybe – just maybe – he could even use this time to start working on some new creative projects he'd been putting off.

As he settled in for another day of binge-watching and relaxation, Nelson smiled to himself. Being sick might not be the most fun thing in the world, but sometimes it could be kind of... okay.

Hope everyone like this I know it was very short, but this is my first one, so I hope eberyone enjoys.
