Y/n's Pov

I was getting ready for the fair with Nelson at 4 PM. I took a shower, blasting my favorite old Drake songs to get me pumped up. As I got out, I put on my outfit for the fair- a black crop top and baggy black cargo pants - and started recording a Get Ready with Me (GRWM) video for TikTok. I chatted about my relationship with Nelson and some random things while doing my skin care routine, then added some light makeup by doing my lashes and applying lip gloss.

After finishing my GRWM, I grabbed my phone and captioned the video before getting a text from Nelson telling me he was waiting outside. I grabbed my bag and headed out to meet him.

Nelson's mom had let us use her SUV, so we drove to the carnival in style. As we arrived, I could already hear the loud music and screams of excitement from the rides. We walked through the entrance gates, and Nelson grinned at me mischievously.

"First ride: the Ferris wheel!" he exclaimed.

We spent the next few hours riding every ride there was, laughing and screaming together. We tried new foods - funnel cakes, cotton candy, and elephant ears - and made fun of each other's silly faces in the photo booth.

As the sun began to set, we decided to take a break and grab some dinner. We sat down at a table outside a food stand, munching on our burgers and fries.

"I'm so glad we're doing this together," I said, smiling up at Nelson.

He smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Me too, y/n. Every year, this fair is our thing."

As we finished up dinner, Nelson suggested we try our luck at one of the games. We won some stuffed animals and stuffed them into his mom's SUV. As we were about to leave, Nelson suddenly shouted out that he had won a giant stuffed unicorn!

"Y/n! Look! You can't miss me now!" he exclaimed.

I giggled and rolled my eyes good-naturedly. "You're such a show-off."

We left the fair with the unicorn clutched tightly in our hands, already making plans for next year's visit.

And here's Nelson's POV:

I couldn't wait for y/n to get ready so we could hit the fair together. I texted her at 2 PM to remind her to be ready by 4 PM. She sent me a quick selfie with a duck face emoji 💁‍♀️🐥

When she emerged from her room at 4 PM looking radiant in her casual outfit, I knew we were in for an amazing day. We drove to the carnival in my mom's SUV and got straight into the action - riding roller coasters and trying new foods.

y/n was being her usual goofy self throughout the day - laughing at every silly thing I did and making fun of our photo booth pictures. I loved seeing her carefree smile.

As we took a break for dinner, I realized how much this fair meant to us - it was our own little tradition. We'd been going together for years now, and it always felt like our own special bond.

After dinner, we decided to try our luck at one of the games. And then... magic happened! I won that giant stuffed unicorn!

I couldn't wait to show y/n my prize and see her reaction. She laughed good-naturedly when I shouted out my victory and showed off my prize. "You're such a show-off," she teased.

But deep down, I knew she was happy for me - happy to be sharing this experience with me again.

As we left the fair with our prize in tow, I knew this was another memory to add to our collection - another reason why going to the fair with y/n was always special.
