Christie, the female Gamma of Mystic Falls, greets Luna Sophie as she exits her vehicle. This was Sophie's first visit to Mystic Falls, and although the grounds were not as beautifully manicured as Silver Moon, it was still an impressive looking pack indeed.
"Luna Sophie, welcome to Mystic Falls, may I say what an honour it is to meet you. I'm Gamma Christie, and I have been assigned to look after you during your visit" says Christie slightly bowing to the visiting Luna.
"You mean you're my bodyguard?" says Sophie with a smirk "well a female Gamma is certainly a pleasant surprise. I was expecting Alpha Knight to have one of his muscle-bound goons assigned to watch me". Luna Sophie was no fool, she knew there would be a wolf assigned to babysit her or even spy on her. She wasn't expecting such a beautiful looking female gamma though, this was a nice surprise, she had been dreading having a pumped-up male wolf shadow her every move. She had to hand it to Alpha Knight, he did seem to be considerate like that, he was clever enough to know she would prefer a female escort.
"Well...Alpha Knight did instruct me to protect you at all costs. And I can assure you I'm highly skilled and can hold my own against any of the male soldiers or muscle-bound goons as you refer to them" answered Christie with her own smirk "Luna Sophie, please allow me to escort you to Alpha Knight's VIP guest suite. Even though there will be other visiting dignitaries, you have been assigned to stay as Alpha Knight's honoured guest, on his private floor of the pack house. Which means he considers you the highest ranked visitor here" the female gamma states proudly, it's clear she is honoured to be chosen as the Luna's personal guard. Sophie gives Christie a discerning once over, there is something about this young she-wolf she instantly likes, she even feels a motherly pull to her, like the way she felt when she first met Lily.
"I think we are going to get along just fine Christie, and please call me Sophie. You don't need to be so formal with me". Christie nods respectfully to the Luna as she picks up Sophie's luggage and leads her towards the impressive looking pack house. Of course, there was no way she would ever drop rank and refer to the Luna by first name basis. If Alpha Knight overheard, he would have her head. Ever since her cousin's death, Alpha Knight had understandably become stricter and more demanding when it came to security and protocol. Mystic falls was a well-oiled machine, with an army of well-trained soldiers at the ready. The strict regime suited Christie just fine, she revelled in the military structure of her pack. She worked tirelessly to rise to fourth ranked wolf in the pack, taking on the newly appointed Gamma position – a rarity for a pack to have. Christie likes to stay busy, keeping busy meant she didn't have time to think. Thinking led her mind to wander, and there was only one wolf that her mind kept subconsciously reaching out for. In the dead of the night, thoughts would come creeping into her mind of a very handsome young male shifter, with slightly grown out chestnut brown wavy hair, and the most stunning soulful blue eyes.
"Please follow me up these stairs" says Christie as she glances back at the Luna, who is following closely behind her. Christie is startled at finally getting a close look at the beautiful Luna standing so close to her, she can't help but notice Sophie has those same soulful, long lashed blue eyes, as Caspian. As she gazes into Sophie's eyes, her heart clenches, it's as though they are sharing the same pain. Christie quickly lowers her eyes and tries to shake the nonsensical thoughts from her head. She quickly turns around and resumes climbing the stairs to the Alpha suite.
"Please follow me Luna Sophie, I'll get you settled into your guest suite".
**************************************************
Sophie stands in the middle of the large space, taking in her surroundings. Christie had left her alone to get settled into the VIP guest suite, and prepare for her dinner date. The Alpha's quarters were large, it took up the entire third floor of the packhouse. The Alpha's floor consisted of his bedroom, personal study, private kitchen & lounge and the VIP visitor suite. Sophie was staying in the same visitor suite that Alpha Roberts resided in during his visit, situated at the other end of the upper level. The Alpha's floor was secured with swipe card access, and Sophie had been given a card to use during her stay. She was told Alpha Knight, Beta Jaxon, Gamma Christie and currently herself, were the only people to have swipe card access to this level. However, nobody but Alpha Knight, could access his bedroom – he apparently had a biometric finger scanner securing his room.
This was the first time Sophie had been allowed to leave Silver Moon without an escort. She knew the only reason Jacob had agreed to allowing the visit, was firstly he was too busy to attend himself and needed her to represent him. Secondly, Alpha Knight had assured Jacob he would take all precautions to keep her safe. She was aware Jacob and Caden had grown close over the last two years, something she was suspicious of. Jacob had at first tried to make Beta Mark escort her, but the cowardly beta had feigned sickness, so he didn't have to come to Mystic Falls. Sophie knew the Beta was fearful of Alpha Knight, after he had beaten him badly for insulting Lily, and that was the real reason he didn't want to come here. Sophie smiled at the memory of Caden breaking Mark's nose, she had never liked the beta, and was glad she didn't have to deal with him over the next few days.
Sophie had been the one to engineer this visit anyway. After her niece's call, pleading for help, Sophie always the protector, had swung into action. She had planted the seed to Jacob, that it was long overdue for the four neighbouring packs to get together for training games and even offered her services to oversee them personally. She had pointed out that Alpha Atlas, renowned as the late Delta Brandon's protégé and highly skilled in field operations, should be made available to train soldiers from all four packs, not just Mystic Falls. She also insisted that Mystic Falls should host, as they had the resources to do so, and their land encompassed a majestic mountain range, that included the magnificent namesake waterfall, what better terrain to conduct tactical field games?
Her plan worked perfectly. Alpha Knight's planned visit to Pine Lake pack had been scrapped, in favour of hosting training games at Mystic Falls. Alpha Knight, Alpha Knox, Alpha Atlas, and herself as proxy to Alpha Jacob, were all going to reside at Mystic Falls for the next 5 days. Each pack was bringing a team of elite soldiers that would participate in the training games, and Alpha Atlas was taking the lead in the training. Sophie had ensured that Lily and Xavier were safe from Alpha Knight for now. All she had to do now, was ensure that nothing went wrong over the next five days, surely everything will go seamlessly, and nobody would suspect a thing? Wringing her hands, Sophie begins to pace, she's aware she is playing a dangerous game. It was a game she had to play in order to protect her niece and grandnephew, she would do anything for the those two, even give her life for them.
A knock on the door pulls Sophie from her worrying thoughts.
"Luna Sophie, I've come to escort you to the private dining room. The three Alphas are awaiting your presence" said Christie from the other side of the door. She had only ever met Alpha Knight, both Knox and Altas were strangers to her. She felt like she already knew Atlas, from everything Lily had conveyed to her, and had a feeling they would get along fine. Knox, however, was mystery to her; she knew of his tragic back-story; that he had lost his mate and pup at the hands of CBC. This was something she could relate to, after all she had lost Caspian too. She would need to take the opportunity to offer him her condolences, as she was a Luna, and it was her duty to show compassion and understanding.
Sophie took a last look at herself in the floor length mirror. She had freshly bathed, changed into a stunning new outfit, meticulously styled her hair and make-up to perfection. She smoothed out her stunning new dress, and held her head high, as she exited the VIP suite – it was showtime! Christie gave an involuntary gasp in awe at the sight of Luna Sophie and gave a slight bow in reverence. Luna Sophie looked regal like a queen, and she exuded an air of confidence and class. Christie puffed out her chest, and straightened her back, she felt proud to be guarding such a woman, she had no doubt the Alphas would be blown away at the sight of her – it was clear that Luna Sophie had arrived!
Luna Sophie has arrived! Luna Sophie is an interesting character, and one I've been wanting to explore. She has been whispering things to me.
