Chapter 53 - Bad Blood

Alpha Knox is agitatedly pacing the private dining room. The only reason he agreed to attend the Mystic Falls training games, was because he was told Alpha Roberts would not be in attendance. Knox could not be in the same room as Jacob, or he would rip that asshole Alpha's throat out and crush his skull without blinking. That is why Caden was so important to Operation Redemption, Knox would never be able to pretend to befriend that traitor. There was too much bad blood between them.

When Luna Sophie was first captured by the CBC, Jacob was a young Alpha at 18, and Knox was even younger at only 16. It was due to Knox's blue blood that he had the strength and capability to run a pack at such a young age. When Jacob had pleaded for support from other packs to rescue Sophie, Knox was one of the first Alpha's to step up and pledge allegiance to the cause. He had given Jacob valuable intel and even donated money to fund Sophie's rescue, rallying other packs to follow suit. He felt a kinship to Jacob, as they were both from the same region of the country, and both took the helm of their packs at such a young age. When Jacob recused Sophie, Knox, along with every other pack, had celebrated the victory. Like all wolves, he was in awe that Jacob could defeat the CBC and bring home his luna. In his eyes Alpha Roberts was a hero, and his stunning victory brought hope to the entire werewolf population.

It was about eleven years later that his beloved Eloise was captured. When he reached out to Jacob for reciprocal help, it became clear that Alpha Roberts would not be returning the support that Knox had given him. He was met with radio silence from Jacob, offered no intel, donated no money towards Eloise's rescue – even though Silver Moon had grown exceedingly rich since Sophie's rescue. At the time, Knox couldn't understand Jacob's refusal to aid rescuing another Luna. Knox was forced to hand himself over to the CBC in exchange for Eloise's release, which proved to be a huge mistake.

Over the years, tirelessly chipping away at bringing down the CBC, Knox had begun to piece together how Jacob really rescued Sophie. He was no hero at all, the traitor had sold his soul to the CBC. Knox now knew that it was in fact Jacob who had sold information to the CBC of his blue blood lineage. The CBC had been clueless to the rare blue blood shifter gene and had been content at peddling normal shifter blood. Jacob's continued blood supply had allowed the CBC to grow stronger and more powerful, and once they realised there was an even greater payday awaiting them with selling blue blood, than there was no stopping them. Knox also strongly suspected it was Jacob who had led the CBC to recapture Eloise after she was released. Understandably, Knox now held Jacob personally responsible for the death of his mate.

Knox would have gone to war with Silver Moon, and slaughtered Jacob without mercy, if had not been for Operation Redemption. Caden continually reminded him of the bigger picture, the end game was to bring down CBC once and for all. They needed Jacob alive for the time being, however Caden swore to him that he would not touch Alpha Roberts, when the time comes, the kill would belong to Knox alone. Knox's jaw twitches at the thought of killing the other Alpha, he wanted to be the last thing Jacob saw before he sent him to hell.

"Here, it looks like you could use one of these" Caden says as he pushes a tumbler of scotch into his hands "I know you don't believe me, but I'm telling you, Luna Sophie is not like her mate". Knox scoffs at Caden's words as he downs his scotch. That was why he was so agitated, they were now awaiting the arrival of Jacob's whore, Luna Sophie. He only found out that Luna Sophie was acting as Alpha Robert's proxy when he arrived at Mystic Falls, and it was too late by then to abandon the training games. He'd never met Sophie, but he could already picture the type of she-wolf she was. Knowing Jacob's taste, his mate would be a bottle blonde, with plastic tits and an orange spray tan. She's probably a materialistic bimbo who can't string two sentences together. Without a doubt she is just as money hungry and corrupt as Jacob.  Rumours abound of the lavish gifts Jacob has thrown at Sophie over the years. Not the least of which was the ridiculous massive, sculpted statues of the couple in their wolf forms, which had been made into a fountain. While his Eloise was being buried six feet under, a statue of Sophie was being erected at Silver Moon, the injustice made Knox want to howl with anger. Goddess help him, it was going to be an unpleasant and tedious dinner for Knox indeed. Once this stupid first meeting is out of the way, Knox would be sure to steer clear of the bitch Luna for the rest of his stay.
