It's My Turn

"A-Are you..."

She silently stepped closer and closer towards Y/N, growing nervous the more the distance closed. But then she came to a sudden halt when Y/N began to move from kneeling down to resting against the wall of the apartment complex's corridor. She caught a good glimpse of his knuckles that were tinted a slight red colour, but fortunately no cuts were formed.

At this point in time the words she wanted to let out were still glued in her throat, the tension of the scenario that was playing out still having full effect on her. But nonetheless, she still approached the boy, gently sitting down next to him. Although she presently struggled to speak up, she maybe thought it was best to stay quiet for now since her presence should at least help him calm down.

Several seconds flew by as the pair sat together in silence. Y/N's eyes darted over to meet who was sitting down next to him, to which he quickly confirmed who the individual was but then quickly averted his gaze after meeting the eyes of the quintuplet.

Y/N: "T-Thanks for coming... Just that alone h-helps."

She was right. Her understanding of the problem at hand grew greater as she started to develop a reason for Y/N's breakdown in her mind.

Y/N: "Sorry but do you have any tissues. I-I may need one or two... Itsuki-chan."

Itsuki: "Of course I do... Here."

Itsuki already had her purse with her as she emptied out a small plastic packet of tissues and instead of pulling out one or two, she gave him the entire packet.

Itsuki: "Take the whole pack, you never know when you may need it later."

Y/N: "Thanks, I appreciate the thought."

Itsuki smiled at Y/N, an attempt to try and brighten up the already dull and depressing atmosphere glooming over the two but Y/N didn't respond to her bright smile, his facial expression was still left blank.

Once again, silence fell amongst the public corridor, the two students once again lacked the confidence to commit to small talk as prior the main topic was completely avoided and it didn't seem either side had it in them to initiate 'that' talk. Well not here at least...

Y/N: "Itsuki-chan, I have a question for you?"

Itsuki: "What is it, go ahead please."

Itsuki eyes had brightened up with hope, thinking that this was the time to comfort him. In-between the time it took for her statement to end and for his reply, several scenarios of how this could possibly play out ran through her head, both good and bad. But she held out hope that this would have a positive ending.

Y/N: "How do I put this..."

This was it, this was her chance to be a shining star for Y/N.

Y/N: "...do you know anywhere like... private we can talk. I-I'd rather not get disturbed."

Or perhaps be postponed... But Itsuki didn't mind the answer in the slightest as from his words, it clearly hinted that he wanted to open up to her, just not here.

Itsuki: "Well umm..."

Itsuki was now in a really deep thought. If she couldn't think of a place that could be secluded and private for the two, her chances of curing him from his disheartening moment would only become slim.

A few seconds ticked by and it was as if a lightbulb had appeared above her head. She had an idea.

Itsuki: "There's a karaoke place not to far from here, only a few minutes walk. They're open until quite late and its not a weekend so I think there may possibly be a room that is unbooked we can pay for. I'll cover the money so you don't have to worry about that."
