Haven's POV:
My whole body vibrates and this fucked up puzzle slowly starts to piece itself together. My hands shake, and I choke back a sob, knowing that if I start, I'm not sure I'll ever stop.
In mere seconds, I run through the course of our entire relationship in my head, willing to find anything left that still feels real....that is real.
I just sit there, dumbfounded and dazed, wishing more than anything that this could just be an awful dream.
Let's be real, my entire life is just one long bad dream, and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever wake up from it. I don't think I can keep trying to either.
But like the sixth sense I used to pride myself on for having around him, I feel him before I hear him.
The floorboard creaks behind me under the weight of someone and for the first time in my entire life, his presence has my stomach sinking, and it feels like all the air has been taken from my lungs.
"Haven, I can explain." He says carefully, and I can hear from his voice that he's treading cautiously.
"Guess who paid me a nice little visit?" I say, hearing the way the floor continues to sound woth each slow step he takes. "Sunny, please, just look at me." I hear him say barely above a whisper, and the sound of his voice sends a shiver that burrows deep in my chest, rooting itself like a parasite.
I subconsciously wish I could just leave the memory of him as he was. I don't want to know what it's like to look at him and see a stranger. I don't know how to do that.
My fingers start to ache and when I look down at them, I don't seem to notice that held between them laid a photo of a boy who looked like Leo, at an age I never thought I'd see him at. "My father was waiting for me in my apartment when I got home tonight." I say solemnly before looking up at him. Laying his eyes on me, he rears his head, taken aback, with a look of shock and hurt clear across his face.
"Now imagine my surprise, because not only have I not seen him for years, which of course you know, but he pulled out a very interesting folder. A folder that shows you working for him." I say, my expression turning from sad to cold.
"Baby, omg what happened to you." he speaks as if he's choking up, his body shifting to move but pulling my gun out, I slam it against the desk, the loud thud halting any future movement.
In the midst of this all, I'd forgotten the bruises that surely covered my face, but that was the least of my concerns. "What could you possibly say?" I ask.
"Sunny please your face," he says, his voice breaking, and I snap my eyes to his, surprised to see them filled with emotion.
Looking up at him, I stare into those green eyes and it confirms everything! How could I have not seen it?
How could I have not recognized it? Because staring at them now, it couldn't have been more clear. In all this time, I finally realize why I always believed his eyes were the first of Harry I fell in love with...because looking at him, I don't see Harry's eyes... I see Leo's.
I don't even know where to begin.
With distrust clear in eyes of my own, his face falters and what mimics pain flashes over his features. "Haven, I'm so sorry." He reaches for me, tears falling from his eyes, and the feeling of his hands on me has my resolve cracking.
"Get off me." I shove him, sending Harry, or Leo, whatever his name is stumbling back, a ball forming in my throat as we now stand eye to eye. "You knew! This entire time you knew and didn't say anything." I yell, my chest heaving. "You knew who I was the entire time. You sat there and listened to me bare my soul and acted like you were hearing it for the first time."
