Haven's POV:
My head is spinning and I don't know what to focus on first. Waking up this morning, I never expected for today to end up this way.
I was meant to leave on my own. I was the one meant to betray them and leave them asking for more.
How have I ended up here?
I left Zayn to pack a bag up as I took that time to visit the one place I have yet to check. The street leading up to Nympho is as empty as ever when I pull in around the back and out of sight.
Looking around there are no signs of life and I'm happy to find the front door locked with all the lights turned off.
Reaching into my back pocket, my hand grazes the metal of the gun in my waist band as I pull the keys out.
Even coming in here doesn't feel the same. How quickly I went from having everything I wanted to nothing at all.
Well I have Zayn! And I have never needed anyone more than him before and I won't start now.
Keeping the lights off, I don't waste time lurking around the dining room before taking the steps two at a time. Standing in front of his office, my hands weaken slightly and this time I use a lock picker to pry the door open.
Pristine as I've always known it to be, the big mahogany desk sits untouched. I work hastily, riffling through every document and paper this God forsaken office must hold.
I'm quiet as I do so, sure that someone is scheduled to come in and do inventory within the next couple hours.
Just last week I was pulling doubles to cover the cost of having to pack up my life again and leave everything I've built behind.
And then it all blew up instead, so much so, I still have this weeks work scheduled memorized.
The familiar jingle of the door opening sounds and I freeze. Waiting I listen for their footsteps, but they stop just as shortly as they've started.
And then they begin again and I know it's him.
I don't know what compels me to do it, but I open the door. Standing in the doorway, I look down to see Harry at the foot of the stairs.
We lock eyes, and it feels like my heart breaks all over again. What was once a crack is now split clean in half.
And the worst part? He looks sad about it.
But how am I supposed to believe anything was ever real, when all of it was a lie?
His name.
His hair color.
Even his accent.
I don't know Leo, and I don't know Harry.
He's a stranger.
And I don't trust strangers.
I can see from here the way his eyes glisten, even in the darkness. A bottle in hand, he stares back at me surely tryiing to figure out the kind of mood I'm in.
I never thought I could hate him.
Even now, I'm not sure I do.
I miss him — the him from yesterday. The man I would have followed off a cliff... and yet here he is today, compelling me to one.
I have nothing to say to him and there's nothing here for me anymore. So silently I walk down the hallway and all the way down the stairs.
I plan to move right past him, but even the ghosting of his touch has me stopping in my tracks next to him.
