"Ok good news and bad news, which one should I start with?" Loman and Cain jumped at the zombie voice coming from behind them.

The two were previously busy hatching a plan to get to Roxanne and now the devil herself--better yet the zombie herself, had presented behind them.

"Heyyyyy Roxy, let's start with the good?" Loman slipped into his easy grin as he motioned for his sister to come join them in their shared theatre room as Cain shifted over to make a big enough space between them for their self-proclaimed youngest.

"ok, so the good news is that I figured out the reverse engineering for the key" Roxanne started, Cain could feel a 'but' coming in soon though unlike Loman whose was looking like a kid opening his Christmas present knowing it was what they wrote in their socks.

"But, bad news is that it can destroy its functionality only and only if it is within 1 mile of the said reverse engineered model" Roxanne carefully rubbed Loman's head as he had deflated from his previous state, cuddling into her.

The room was silent for a few moments before Cain cleared his throat,

"We can build a new safe house? just for the devices?" his voice sounded hopeful but he also knew that was only a temporary solution because there was apparently a traitor working amongst them now. They couldn't keep it at the office or at home, it would put everyone too close to the line of fire, and no one except themselves could be trusted for guarding anything right now.

The secrecy between her mates and herself was actively killing Roxanne inside. She couldn't figure out why but she did know that if one of her mates did the same thing she would not forgive them for quite a long while, if ever.

"Im...sorry this has to be kept a secret from Zerithia, I just don't want any of our mates in the line of fire. The less they know the safer they are" Roxanne said continuing the petting motion on Loman.

"Hey? Roxy?" Loman piped not moving from under her caressing, "yes?"

"You're keeping this a secret from yours too, we aren't the only ones feeling like shit inside. Don't blame yourself for wanting to keep our loved ones safe." Loman whispered into the calm that had engulfed the siblings. It had been a while since they had sat together without meaning to work or decode an annoyingly haunting code. Since the mates thing and all, it had been tough to be just siblings, triplets. It was slightly sad that this interaction was fixing something they didn't even realise was getting strained.

Roxanne simply nodded and relaxed further into the plush black couch as Cain's head came to rest on her shoulder, Loman shifted into a more comfortable position by directly situating his head on Roxanne's lap. She resumed the mindless head petting, resting her own head on Cain's as they stared off into the theatre screen playing some series like a fuzzy background noise.

"You know...it's somewhat weird to me." Roxanne started again, maybe she was feeling chatty today after the working quarantine she had put herself into.

"what does?" Cain encouraged her to go on

"That I miss them, while we were at the safe house it felt whole. Like some missing puzzle piece had finally fit. I had you guys and them under one roof and I had never and I genuinely mean never felt better."

Roxanne felt both her brothers exhale a sigh, a content one.

"trust me baby sis, so did we." Loman replied as his eyes drifted open and close.

"Does it...considering that you have been away from your mates for quite some time...does the bond ever feel weakening to you?" Cain's voice was the most vulnerable and weak she had heard since their childhood. But no, Roxanne instead felt the pull becoming stronger.
