"Okay, so question one,"

"That is typically the number of the question you start an interview with,"

Deep breaths.

"I'm gonna need your name and age,"

"I'm 25."

Another deep breath.

"So, can you tell me a little bit about how you became one of the youngest CEOs and a bit more about your role,"

"My parents. "

"Are you gonna be this dry the entire interview? I have a job to do Mr Tomioka,"

"So do I, and by being here, I'm not doing it,"

You crossed both your legs and arms and stopped your phone from recording.

"If you have an issue, speak to my boss, but I won't have you jeopardise my job just because you won't cooperate."

His eyes widened, and he honestly looked a bit lost for words.

"15 minutes," he mumbled, leaning back in the chair.

-

"Thank you for answering my questions, Mr Tomioka,"

"Pleasures all mine," he quickly walked himself out the door before disappearing down the corridor.

Your stomach twisted in a knot once he had left. It was quite possibly one of the most awkward interactions of your life.

You begrudgingly walked back into your office, clutching your phone tightly.

Now, all that was left was to type up what he had said and send it to Tengen so he could approve it.

-

"Y/n!" Mitsuri called out to you on your lunchbreak.

"Hey," you smiled.

"How was the interview,"

You shook your head and sighed.

"That bad?"

"It was just really awkward. And it was like talking to a brick wall,"

"That sounds like Giyuu,"

"You... know him?"

"We went to school together," she shrugged.

"Has he always been like this?"

"No," she gave you a sad look. "He became more like he is now when he was about 15 or so,"

"Shame..." You finished warming up the soup you bad been making before pouring it into a bowl and propping yourself up on a stool.

"What are you doing this afternoon,"

"I think Tengen wants me to draw out some ideas for next months issue? I'm having a meeting about it with him as well,"

Your lunch break ended far too quickly, and it wasn't long before you were back at your desk, mind focused on drafting up notes from the interview.

After opening up Word, you replayed the first 30 seconds of the interview, your fingers gliding across the keys, making to sure get down the important bits.

You cringed slightly, hearing your own voice, but listening to Giyuu's was oddly therapeutic.

It was so soft, yet there was still a certain roughness behind it.

You blinked a few times at the screen, trying to avoid thinking about your annoyingly attractive neighbour.

Your boss popped his head in for a few minutes, making sure you were getting on okay.

"Can we get you anything? Something to drink?" he asked.

"Water is fine," you smiled.

He returned shortly with a bottle of water, chilled from the fridge, which was heaven to your senses.

"Of course," he said after you thanked him. "Let me know if you need anything else,"

-

They day passed, and at around 5pm, the sun had set, indicating that maybe it was time to head home.

You and Mitsuri and Shinobu exchanged numbers and promised to add you to a group chat that had some of your other colleagues in.

Tengen asked you how you were finding everything before you left, and you had nothing but good things to say.

"We're lucky to have you." he smiled before waving you off down the stairs.

The walk back to your apartment was slightly more familiar now. All the streetlamps were lit, and all the cars had their lights on.

Restaurants were bustling with people, and retail shops were slowly getting ready to close.

You ended up picking up some sushi from a shop on the way back as your stomach growled.

You let out a breath from the cold air as you approached your complex, and you were even more excited to be home when the heat from your apartment greeted you.

You set your keys to the side and slipped off the shoes you were wearing before hanging up your jacket and heading straight to the bathroom for a quick hot shower.

Hair washed and dried, you slipped into a pair of fluffy pyjamas before crashing on the couch with your sushi and favourite show.

However, halfway through the episode, you received a message.

From an unknown number.

You stared at your phone in shock, eyes slightly widened before sending him a quick 'It's fine! I appreciate the apology' and setting your phone to the side.

You wrapped the blanket around you tighter before popping another piece of sushi into your mouth.

And it wasn't long before you decided to drag your feet to your bedroom, the events of the day catching up to you.
