"OH MY GOD." Your mother screamed over the phone. "He's so handsome as well!?"

Giyuu turned around from where he was standing in the kitchen, and you gave him a sheepish smile.

"I can't believe I've never seen a photo of him until now. How long have you've even been dating for?"

"4 months or so..."

"Y/n L/n."

"I'm sorry I wanted to tell you sooner, but we've been so busy, and I wasn't sure whether to break the news in person or not.."

"Not good enough. Next weekend. Bring him over for dinner."

You shot Giyuu a look. He blinked, setting down the dish he was washing. "I don't mind," he said simply.

You sighed. "Fine. Next weekend."

Your mother let out a pleased hum. "Good. And Y/n?"

"Yeah?"

"I raised you well."

You rolled your eyes, ignoring the way Giyuu's lips quirked in amusement. "Goodnight, Mom."

"Goodnight, sweetheart. And tell your very handsome man I said hello."

You ended the call, slumping against the counter. "I'm so sorry."

Giyuu tilted his head. "For what?"

"My mom is... a lot."

He shook his head, stepping closer and pressing a kiss to your forehead. "She just cares about you."

You exhaled, leaning into him. "You're too good to me."

"I'm just right for you."

"Would you be okay with it then? Driving down next weekend?"

"Of course. I'd love to meet your family,"

You smiled and leant up to kiss the corner of his mouth.

"Thank you," you murmured against his skin.

Work had been unusually quiet that week. A few employees were out on their annual leave, and there hadn't been any major events on.

By 2 p.m., you had finished drafting your articles, responded to all your emails, and even proofread a piece that wasn't due until next week.

You knocked on Tengen's door, and it opened automatically.

"Hey, Y/n. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

You leaned against the doorframe, offering a small smile. "Hey, Tengen. I was just wondering if it's alright for me to head out early? I’ve finished everything for the day, and there’s not much else going on."

Tengen leaned back in his chair, studying you for a moment before grinning. "Ah, taking advantage of a slow day, huh? I like it. As long as everything’s handled, I don’t see why not."

"Really?" You blinked. That was easier than expected.

"Of course," he said, waving a hand dismissively. "Go enjoy yourself. Just don’t make a habit of it, yeah?"

You chuckled. "Promise. Thanks, Tengen."

"Anytime. Tell Giyuu I said hello!"

You ended up heading over to Giyuu's office to see him.

Emi greeted you with a knowing smile as you walked in. "He’s in a meeting, but it should be wrapping up soon."
