"There we go! All done. Give me a spin so we can make sure everything is in place,"
You did as she instructed, carefully turning around.
"Perfect!" she squealed.
"I can see why you're the stylist now. I've never felt so put together,"
"You flatter me, Y/n," she waved a hand.
"Also, I know this is a big ask... but how willing would you be to let me tag along in your car?"
"You don't even have to ask honey, there's no way I'm letting you out my sight the rest of the evening,"
A relaxed smile washed over your previous expression.
At least she was friendly; almost motherly.
-
The drive to the venue was anything but quiet.
This woman yapped more than your mother.
In the best way.
You had known Mai but a few hours and felt as if you could talk to her about anything.
"Mai, I have a question,"
"What's up?"
"Does Tomioka...talk about me?"
A slightly mischievous grin crept up on her face.
"Yep," she gave a single nod, eyes fixated on the road.
"In what way?"
She tapped her index finger on the side of her nose.
"But it's nothing bad, don't worry," she smiled.
You gnawed on your lip momentarily before shifting your focus out the window, hands scrunched in your lap.
Not long after your little conversation, she was parking just outside the venue.
And there were cameras everywhere.
It was honestly quite an overwhelmed sight.
Your mouth fell open, and Mai noticed.
"Pretty cool, right?" she grinned, eyes glistening.
You nodded, and she hopped out of the car, beckoning you to follow her.
"Smile for the press!" she whispered as you approached the entrance.
The security let you in without a second thought when they saw Mai by your side.
"Have a good evening, ladies," they stated, opening a large set of doors for the both of you.
You carefully guided yourself through a rather spacious hallways placing one heel in front of the other, before emerging into a sea of people and lights and chandelier and music that was barely audible above all the noise.
"Look after yourself, Y/n, alright? I'm going to go and scout for other clientele. Call me if you need anything,"
You smiled and nodded and wished her luck before attempting to find your bearings.
The crowd seemed to thin out as you wandered further down the hall, and it wasn't long before you spotted a mop of black hair and a stoic face talking to a group of people.
He caught your gaze shortly, his eyes welcoming you.
You began walking towards the group of people, slightly nervous.
"Good evening," you greeted.
"Good evening, Miss L/n," the man greeted back, hands sliding into the pockets of the suit he was wearing.
