The next few weeks were a blur.

Work was busy.

Your article on Giyuu's perfume was  a huge marketing success with sales going up 48% more than usual.

Giyuu was, of course, over the moon, and you were honestly quite proud of yourself.

Your name seemed to be getting thrown around at meetings, and everyone had nothing but praise to say about you.

"You've proven to be an incredibly valuable employee Y/n, even in just a  month a half. I can see great things for the future," Tengen spoke one afternoon.

With no new fragrances in the making, content on Ame was slightly limited in the magazine, but Giyuu assured you that it was nothing to worry about:

"L/n, it's fine, I promise. This was expected, we literally just had a very successful launch of a new product an we usually wait a while for the original excitement of it to die down before we start thinking about what we want to make next. We can't expect you to write about stuff that hasn't happened yet."

You slowly nodded, still feeling slightly guilty for some reason.

Yours and Giyuu's relationship was still strictly professional, of course.

It had to be.

Right?

It wasn't a subject you thought about often, but the launch party and other interactions you'd had made an unfamiliar feeling pang in your chest.

Sure, he was conventionally attracted. But there was something about his mannerisms and the way he'd articulate himself around you that made you feel something.

Something you couldn't quite put your finger on.

"L/n?" he called out to you after you had gone oddly quiet.

"Let's walk,"

"Okay," you nodded, unusally on edge.

You walked in silence down the stairs until you were outside, when Giyuu stopped.

"L/n."

"Hm?"

"Tell me what's wrong."

You took a deep breath.

To be honest, you weren't exactly sure yourself.

You were exhausted from work, confused about if you and Giyuu could even be classified as 'friends' and stressed out about a million different other things.

He took a step forward.

The street was empty.

The air was cold.

Your heart was beating so loud you could hear it in your chest.

He shouldn't have this effect on you.

"I'm just tired," you murmured.

"Go home. I'll let Tengen know."

"But I have so much work to do,"

"And you have all the time in the world to do it. You've been voluntarily working overtime every day this week."

"But I need everything to be perfect, I hate leaving things unfinished,"

"You're already perfect."

Time froze.

The mans eyes subtly examined your face before he spoke again.

"Let's go somewhere,"

You raised a brow.

"Where and why?"
