The next day turned out to be...exhilarating.

So exhilarating, you were standing in Giyuu's office still at a loss for words.

"I can't accept this." You stated, in the most (apologetic?) way possible.

"What do you mean you can't accept this?" he raised an eyebrow.

"It's too much Tomioka, please, tell Mai she can give it to someone else. I can't - "

"L/n." his eyes fixated on your face.

You took a deep breath.

"Do you like it?"

"I love it, it's absolutely gorgeous, but I've never been gifted something so beautifully designed, and who knows if it will look good on -"

"Try it on first,"

You reluctantly agreed, and Giyuu left the room so you could change.

You slipped into the dress, noticing the large slit that ran up your thigh, and the feeling of the black laced corset that hugged your waist.

"You can come in," you called out, and immediately after, the door creaked open.

His eyes grew, and he stopped and let the door close shut.

"Oh my god."

"It's bad, isn't it."

"No."

"What do you mean?"

"L/n,"

A pause.

"You look beautiful."

The blood drained to your feet, and you could feel your cheeks grow hot.

Did he really mean it?

You swallowed the lump in your throat.

"Thank you..." you replied, barely above a whisper before he excused himself so you could change back into your previous clothes.

You placed the dress back inside its protective plastic cover before Giyuu came back in.

"Can I tell Mai you'll keep it then?"

Your lips parted, and you hesitated.

"Yeah." You breathed a sigh of relief,"you can."

-

The launch party was literally within arms reach, and Giyuu ended up sending you back to the Entertainment District the remainder of that day and so with the little information you had, you began drafting a couple of segments of the article you had yet to write.

Except you were distracted.

By someone.

And it was somewhat frustrating.

You had no idea what you felt or why you were feeling it, but it was becoming impossible to think about anything other than him.

Even as Mitsuri called out your name at least thrice, you stayed lost in thought.

"Sanemi, don't throw a pen at her!"

Now, that brought you back to life.

"Sorry, I zoned out," you awkwardly laughed and shook your head.

"That's fine... but are you alright, Y/n?" Your pink haired friend.

"Huh? Oh, right, yeah, I'm fine, just tired and...in thought,"

She nodded understandably.

"Wanna go out for a sweet treat after work? Maybe that will make you feel a bit better!"
