"This trip has been far too long overdue," Tengen sighed, sinking into the cushions of the sofa between his wives.

"Yeah, we did keep putting it off,"

"For good reasons," Tengen smiled. "At the time, some of us were preoccupied with...personal matters,"

He glanced towards you and Giyuu.

You raised an eyebrow at Tengen’s not-so-subtle insinuation, but just before you could respond, Mitsuri beat you to it.

"Well, it’s a good thing we finally made it happen!" she beamed, stretching her arms above her head. "This place is gorgeous."

"You say that like you weren’t the one harassing all of us to clear our schedules," Sanemi scoffed from across the room, arms folded as he leaned against the wall.

"Because I knew it would be worth it!"

Giyuu finally spoke. "It’s peaceful."

Tengen smirked. "Exactly."

"You say that now," Obanai muttered. "Let’s see how long the peace actually lasts."

You chuckled, leaning back against the couch. "I give it two days before something chaotic happens."

"Two days is generous," Sanemi quipped.

Tengen laughed. "Fine, fine, but for now, just relax."

A chorus of agreement filled the room, and just like that, the night began to unfold.

-

"Right. I'll cook us something," Tengen offered.

His wives exchanged glances.

"We're helping." Makio said. "Last time you tried to cook the kitchen looking like a fucking fireworks display,"

"Fineeee, come on you three," he spoke, as they disappeared into the kitchen.

Giyuu’s arm rested loosely along the back of the couch behind you, fingers brushing your shoulder absentmindedly. "Are you comfortable?" he asked quietly.

You turned your head slightly, catching the softness in his gaze. "Very."

He gave a small nod and you smiled. The moment was peaceful, everyone easing into the comfort of the space.

-

Thud.

"We should probably keep a fire extinguisher nearby. Just in case." Giyuu suggested.

You chuckled. "Good idea. I'll let you handle that darling,"

Before he could respond, another thud came from the kitchen.

"That was NOT my fault!" Tengen’s voice rang out.

"You literally just dropped the knife!" Makio snapped.

Giyuu exhaled through his nose. "Maybe I should actually get that fire extinguisher."

You laughed, nudging him lightly. "Relax, worst case scenario, we just order takeout."

Mitsuri sighed, looking entirely too happy. "This trip is already perfect."

-

"Bon appetit,"

Tengen set the dishes down with a flourish, looking entirely too pleased with himself. His wives stood behind him, each wearing varying degrees of exhaustion.

"You did actually help, right?" you asked, eyeing the food with mild suspicion.

"We supervised," Makio said, crossing her arms.
