You woke up approximately 2 hours later, and Giyuu had not moved.
You seemed to have changed position a bit and was now cuddled up against his side.
Giyuu was quiet and seemed to be holding a book in one hand whilst his other absent mindedly fiddled with your hair.
It was mollifying, and for a brief moment, you almost forgot the deathly disease you had been fighting.
"Are you reading?" you muttered, ignoring the sore throat that was painfully tickling you again.
"Classical literature."
Why was that so attractive?
"How's your throat?" he asked.
"I want to rip it out."
His eyes widened. "I'm going to go make you some lemon tea."
He got up, leaving you feeling somewhat empty.
He paraded to the kitchen, grabbing a mug and amongst other ingredients before putting it all together in a matter of minutes.
It was unusually satisfying, watching him work your kitchen as if it were his own.
Giyuu brought the mug over to you before slumping next to you once more.
"Aren't you bored?" you asked.
"Of what?"
"Of me."
"Never."
You blew on the tea that was still piping hot before taking a sip.
"I hate being sick." you grumbled.
"I know. Just rest, alright, you don't have to do anything. I'll take care of everything,"
You rested your head on his lap.
"You're pretty," you murmured, looking up at him.
His cheeks turned subtly pink.
"You flatter me far more than necessary,"
"Actually, it's very necessary."
"Oh yeah?"
"Giyuu, I'm tired again."
"Rest. I'm gonna pop next door and shower and change, but I'll be back immediately after."
"Okay!"
"Sleep, alright? Your body needs it."
And just before he left, he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead.
-
After three more days of rest, you were back on your feet.
Tengen forced you to take it easy and gave you as little work as possible.
It was almost nice in a way, not slaving yourself away, although there were still multiple times where you questioned if you were doing enough to which Sanemi would growl: "You stupid fucking asshole of course you're doing enough." Before storming off back to his office with a cup of coffee.
One warm afternoon, when the sun was still high, Tengen dragged the whole crew out for lunch.
"Sorry, but the office building was starting to feel claustrophobic and not very flashy," he justified, as you sat down around the table of a seafood restaurant and handed everyone a menu.
"Shall we just get a little bit of everything?" Tengen proposed which got a chorus of "yes's" and "works for me" in response.
And after the waiter walked away, people got to talking.
