Chapter 15: Changes

Male Terra's POV:

After my victory against the Dullahans, I drove back the way I came and found Seth and Zoey's unconscious body in the middle of the canyon dirt road,
cast an anti gravity zone spell on them, tied them to the bike, and road back into town with Billy directing me to an old inn where all the guest rooms were up stairs.
Billy and Jeffrey help me take Ventus, Zoey,
and Seth in where they each get their own rooms to rest in for the night,
while everyone else was downstairs. The inn keeper and his daughter tend to the three upstairs,
and Billy mentions they are shamans and will use their shaman magic to heal them.

So we all met at the diner and bar on the ground floor,
and I take in the sights as it really does look like a cowboy saloon.
I sit at the table and have a talk to the rest of the team about today.
I asked them what happened about the whole Dullahan thing,
and I was given various stories such as Billy and Regalia Armory using guns and explosives to deter the Dullahans while the girls kept working in the church. Ventus worked at the trading goods store across the canyon road,
and that's when I returned,
and well, we know the rest.
Now it was their turn to ask why Seth is all banged up and to be honest.
I don't really know myself.

"We were delivering mail in the next city over, and this grandpa recognized Seth. He recognized grandpa cowboy, and Seth got shot five times, then some chick with blue hair started hulking out because she recognized Seth, and Seth didn't fight back once! I was going to summon Zoey, but she teleported of her own free will. She was about to end the people, and Seth took a blast for the woman who turned out to be this Chimera like creature, so we prioritized getting him out of there without fatally harming those people, then, that Demon Selena threw and broke the table appeared from nowhere and when I looked back, he was on Zoey's back, digging his foot into her spine and Seth jumped off. I figured they would be good enough to take him down, so I fought off the other Dullahans. I had a joust on some bridge in construction, got Ventus back, drove back the way I came, and there's Seth with missing arms and a giant sword next to his head. Both were out cold, and now here we are."

With all that information soaked in, Selena spoke up. "We can't remain here for too much longer. For all we know, Genesis could have been done with his business and moved on. We're literally chasing a group of people, probably five steps ahead of us already." Everyone agreed.

"I can see you're in a hurry, so I'll talk to the folks and discuss allowing passage up to Mt Lucifer, and maybe the dragon Animal Skins will be nice enough to help y'all out. That was the direction this Genesis fella went."
Billy says.
Billy dismissed himself,
and the team relaxed for the night.
The Inn keeper comes down and prepares food for us as the menu was pure country food.
Other than that,
he told us the conditions of everyone.

"Two will make a full recovery. The boy with black and purple hair, it will take him two more days or longer to recover his missing arms. The blonde boy. Praise the Titans, Lucifer, Apollo, and Celstia that the boy has a dense skull."

The Inn keeper bows to us and leaves with his daughter,
saying he'll make sure the town folks bring us more food in the morning. "Great....... we have to stay here and wait for the three of them to heal up. We're losing so much time right now."

Selena mutters.
Maddie gives her a mmmhmm,
and the rest of the night was uneventful. We each got a room,
and we all turned in for the night after eating.
I light the candle on the nightstand,
use lightning magic on my phone to give it more battery life,
and set an alarm for 6am.
I opened an app on my phone and played an audio book until I passed out.

Narration: While everyone is sleeping, the giant buster looking broadsword in the corner of Seth's room opens an eye in the cross guard of the hilt,
and its large orange eye with a red pupil looks directly at Seth.
Blood veins come to the center of the bulging eye,
and it releases a burgandy aura that travels from the tip of the blade across the wooden floor,
up the bed,
and into Seth,
turning his silver blue aura to black and burgandy.
