Chapter 36: The End Is Nigh

Narration: Once everyone was back in London,
since no one could take a lap top, everyone had to make a report in person to the Pope and quite the report it was. Chase and his kids returned to Belladonna's mansion,
and Lilith actually took the time to apologize for all the times she bullied him and full blown confessed she wanted Caleb to be a fighter so that he could defend himself and hoped that giving him the tough love would help when it did not.

Caleb and Lilith hug things out while Lily and the other three told Nero, Succubus Selena,
and Akiza about their trip to Atlantis. Two weeks after recovering from jet lag or the sleep schedule,
Morgan set Zoey straight for her blow-up on Selena for not seeing her point of view and that everyone is just tired of the drama and points out litterally everyone is over it.
Zoey did end up apologizing to Selena of her own free will,
and Selena just didn't care.

She just rolled with it,
Morgan made them hug it out,
and while Selena didn't hang out with Seth, Zoey, or Yuzuhara.
Morgan did.
Seth put all his time, energy,
and focus on self-improvement with a bit of martial arts training on the side with Himiko and Shimura.
Selena spent her days happier and full of life,
smiling more and talking to strangers on the streets and co-workers she previously had no interest in.
Morgan helped Selena mother Natalie as she was about to enter her terrible twos, and Zoey tried to pick up some mother duties as well,
but baby Natalie was not having it.

She cried out momma,
and even though Selena doesn't have to wear Azura's clothes anymore,
baby Natalie recognizes Selena as momma and Seth as da da,
so Selena had to pick up Natalie before she'd stop crying and coughing.
The crying even broke Selena's heart. Almost the other half of the year goes by, and now Selena is having girl's nights with Zoey and Yuzuhara.
Every once in a while,
Sora and Caleb's sisters will tag along. Mostly,
Selena and Zoey bond by going to the shooting range once a month and see who can hit the most bullseye while Selena and Yuzuhara bond over swordsmanship.

Selena has a few sparring sessions with Yuzuhara a week,
and Himiko even helps Yuzu with different sword schools.
Like Jigen Ryu style, Ninten Ichiryu style,
and more.
Every now and then,
Selena will pop in to see Seth training with Himiko,
though it's more coincident than anything else as something she needs to do or going to do happens to be in the same building.
Regardless, though,
Selena sees that Seth is maturing by working on himself.
Since Selena didn't want to hang out for almost half a year and came up with excuses to not do so,
Seth took the hint and moved on in life.

He had to keep telling himself that if he loved her,
he'd let her go,
and if she came back and wanted to hang out, then he'd accept it.
That evening,
Selena helped Himiko learn how to cook as Himiko wanted to learn how to make Japanese dishes like sushi and whatnot. After a few hours of helping cook,
they both made bento boxes for the whole team,
and they both split the load to run it to the squad.

That night,
when Selena made it home,
she dropped her phone by accident. "Mierda."
[Translation: Fuck in Spanish]
She picks it up and goes about the rest of her night.
The next morning,
Selena and Morgan were watching baby Natlie walk around,
make happy baby noises,
and because Nero had a bad habit of leaving doors open,
Natalie went to the bathroom,
causing Selena to get up and go walk after her but when she made it to the bathroom, the pacifier was in the toilet. "Mierda!"
Natalie says.

Selena and Morgan break out laughing, then walk Natalie back to the living room and shut the bathroom door.
The pacifier was tossed and replaced, but now Selena has a funny new story to tell everyone and also told Natalie not to repeat that word.
When the holidays came around, Shimura held a dinner at his London building,
and Selena joined,
though her PTSD still showing with the memories resurfacing around the holidays but with the closure Seth gave, her managed to pull through and help Himiko and Shimura cook Thanksgiving dinner.
