Chapter 58: Life On The Run

Seth's POV:

It was another day in the household of Esparda Manner.
Cynthia and Lydia played with their 9 year old boys who were the spitting image of their fathers,
minus the red hair.
I gave them a pat on the head as they said good morning Uncle Seth,
a tune I've grown quite accustomed to hearing. "Good morning, boys." Yuzuhara and Zoey cooking breakfast and gave me a morning kiss while I hugged them both from behind.
It was a beautiful bright day,
and everything was just right until Terra's scent became stronger and spiked through the roof,
a strong indication of running or fighting.

I didn't even question it,
and Zoey faced me as well with the same shocked look on her face,
and I could tell we were on the same wavelength.
Yuzu,
on the other hand,
not so much.
"I think I smell Ventus."
She says so casually,
to which Cynthia looked at her confused. "We need to see this for ourselves, but first, we need the twins. They have a stronger nose than we do."

Zoey nods,
but Yuzuhara voices her thoughts.
"Hey, don't go counting out my sniffer! I can smell just as good as the twins!"
I apologized and rubbed her head.
I got Aiko and Haruki,
and we went over to Belladonna's mansion through the dimensional door where Chase's side of the family was in the living room.
They all took one look at our faces and knew this was serious.
Yuzuhara and Zoey went to talk to Belladonna, Morgan,
Reina, and now Keiko.
It's a story for a different time,
I swear.

I approached the twins and bowed before them [Seth is actually martial art bowing, not on his hands or knees.], telling them I smelled Terra's scent and told them how it spiked and that Zoey and I needed to see this for ourselves.
I begged them for help,
and all the trauma came running back as I recalled the helplessness I felt when I couldn't save Penny and Leon.
I knew he was alive,
I just knew it as my instincts were on high alert.

"Would you stop begging?! Zoey, you're supposed to be the breaks for him, but I don't see you pumping them."
Chase says sternly.
"We've been tracking Terra days in advance long before you've even noticed. Selena is going through every single contact she can to find him."
This got me to shut up,
and then Morgan came over to Chase and asked him if Cynthia, Lydia,
and their kids could stay here for the time being and that if my and I girls left home,
then it'd leave them unprotected.

Chase asked if she got Belladonna's permission for that,
and she agreed to have them stay with Morgan.
Chase dropped the matter,
gave all his girls a hug,
and told his kids he'll be back after a while,
then told his kids that in an emergency, go to Shimura through the dimensional door with Morgan.

Lilith held all five of her kids and asked Chase if Terra was really alive,
to which he said yes.
Chase calls Selena,
and she comes down wearing her usual short brown pants and red sleeveless crop top that showed her midriff. Wowzers!
I empty my mind and focus on the task at hand,
as the twins, Selena,
and Belladonna came with us.
Zoey boards her boat,
and the twins tell her which direction to go.
We'll be behind Terra by a few hours, but as soon as he stops driving by boat, we'll be able to catch up to him in no time!

Once we stopped in Jamaica around three in the afternoon,
everyone except for Selena and Belladonna could see Terra and Ventus's scent!
It went in large circles like a souls game. I took in my surroundings and noticed this was a pretty public area,
as there was an outdoor beach bar and a shopping center right next to it.
The new comes with breaking news,
and it immediately catches my attention with a WANTED picture of Terra on screen!

I go into the bar and tell the man to turn it up,
as I hyper focus on video footage taken right where we were at!
The video was Terra and his dad sword fighting,
but it didn't show Terra killing his dad. The news then splits the screen as a blonde man with blue eyes takes up the right side of the screen and a Jamaican reporter on the left.
They talked about the situation, and the blonde guy with the name of Rufus Armstrong under his face addressed how Terra killed the new Pope that was meant to guide the new world into a peaceful tomorrow and now,
that job falls on him as he was Eraqus Woods's successor.
