Ji Xing was busy until 8pm before she had time to order takeout and ordered a random meal. The colleagues gathered together for dinner and had to continue working overtime after dinner.

During the chat, Dr. Wang asked: "What are you going to do this weekend?"

Lin Zhen said: "Sleep. I'm so tired. I'll sleep for two days and two nights."

"What about you, Ji Xing?"

"She has a boyfriend, of course she's with her boyfriend, unlike us, a bunch of singles." Colleague A said, "Ji Xing's boyfriend is so handsome and talented."

"Really? I never knew what your boyfriend looks like." Huang Weiwei said, "Do you have a photo? Let me see."

Ji Xing flipped a photo from her phone and showed it to her.

"Oh my god, he's really handsome. How did you meet?"

"Colleagues in college."

"Campus romance, I envy you. My college was very bad and there were no good boys." Huang Weiwei sighed regretfully.

Lin Zhen laughed: "The main thing is that you're not as pretty as Ji Xing."

"People are in trouble, don't break up!" Huang Weiwei shouted.

Everyone laughed.

Colleague B suddenly asked: "Hey, did you say there will be a salary increase next year?"

Ji Xing drank a mouthful of soup and said: "The company policy is to increase by 5% according to inflation, right?"

"But you know what," the colleague lowered his voice mysteriously, "I went to the HR office the other day and accidentally saw the terms for recruiting fresh graduates next year. The salary of fresh graduates is about the same as that of our old employees who have worked for one or two years. You also know that our industry is developing rapidly, and the starting salary of fresh graduates is increasing year by year."

Everyone was silent and ate separately.

Colleague C, who has worked for three or four years, said dissatisfiedly: "The increase for old employees has not been that big."

Ji Xing said: "Companies are like this. They would rather recruit young newcomers or job-hoppers at high prices than give existing employees a salary increase unless they are promoted. It's normal."

Everyone sighed.

Huang Weiwei said: "I don't want to increase my salary. Now I just hope to get the year-end bonus as soon as possible."

No one responded again.

The company's departments have different ways of distributing year-end bonuses. The sales department is based on commissions, while their product development department refers to projects, contract terms discussed with HR when joining the company, suggestions from superiors, and other factors. Everyone is different and confidential. So, everyone never discusses how much the year-end bonus is.

But Huang Weiwei said quickly: "April's salary is enough for me to go home and have a good New Year. Ah, let's have a New Year holiday soon."

No one said anything, and Ji Xing's heart skipped a beat.

April salary. Her year-end bonus is also four months' salary.

She thought that regardless of her work ability and performance in all aspects, her return would at least be higher than that of her colleagues. Even if it was based on the conditions when she joined the company, her academic background was there, so how could she be treated the same as Huang Weiwei?
