I am so sorry you guys, this chapter took me WAY too long to complete, but I finally finished it! It's definitely longer than the others, but I'm sure you guys won't be too mad at me ;)

It had been two weeks since everything happened between Carter, Jasmine, and I. In that time, I didn't make the move to talk to either of them. I simply couldn't.
During the first week, I couldn't stop blaming myself or even eat or sleep on a consistent basis. I was sick to my stomach every other day and the picture of them felt like it was forever etched into my mind.
It wasn't until the middle of the second week that I gathered myself and found an apartment to live in by myself so I wouldn't have to sleep in Carter's spare bedroom. He fought like hell to talk to me, but I avoided him like the plague.
It was torture for him, but I wasn't ready to forgive him or hear his side of the story yet. I had given him the benefit of the doubt already, but this time was much different.
It also pained me every time I thought about the timeline, I noted that they slept together around the time I was pregnant, confused,
and heartbroken.
Just when I thought my past couldn't get any worse, they had to do this to me.
"Did you hear me Mrs. Evans?" Lucy's voice suddenly came to my mind
My eyes blinked twice before refocusing on Lucy who stood before me with a puzzled expression on her face.
I was seated at my desk with my hands hovered over my laptop, but I couldn't remember what we were talking about.
I sighed softly and shook my head before plastering a small smile on my face, "I'm sorry, you were saying?"
"I was reading off the attendees of the news premiere next weekend. Businesses from all over the country will be there since we're sponsoring the premiere of their new movie, Evergreen," She answered with a bright smile on her face
My eyebrows squinted in confusion as I leaned back in my chair, "When did I sign off on that?"
"You didn't," I heard Carter's voice call from behind me suddenly
His heavy footsteps echoed through the doorway as he entered my office and my fists clenched instantly. I had enough of him walking in here like he owned the building.
He wore an all green suit that perfectly matched his eyes with a crispy white buttoned down shirt underneath. The suit clung to his muscles and legs beautifully, and I could see how toned he was from my position in the chair.
I tried to ignore his looks so he wouldn't distract me, but it was pretty fucking hard since he was right in front of me. Glancing down with an intimidating look that demanded my attention. He knew exactly what he was doing coming in here the way he did.
"I did," He finished with a shrug
I pursed my lips and crossed my legs over each other, continuing not to say anything.
