chapter 107: A magics enemy

As Patry activated his spell. In two different passages leading to different rooms of the shadow palace, Yami was using the steps to move further up while Nozel was using mercury to fly. The two of them then looked serious as they sensed something.

"This strong magic," they both thought.

Meanwhile Asta looked up, "Its definitely going to be more powerful then before and we were only able to dodge last time because Gauche showed up in time," he thought before Patry spoke up.

"Demon light magic, light of judgement ," he said before firing a dark beam of light at Asta who held up the demon slayer sword. The beam of light hit Asta as he struggled to push it back with the flat side of his sword.

"He may be strong, but we're stronger together," Asta thought looking serious as Yuno pushed his hand into Astas. The two of them yelled as they pushed the beam back before it reflected into the wall above Patry.

"Alright looks like we did it," Asta said looking relieved.

"He may be strong, but that spell has to have depleted his mana," Yuno said before Patry spoke up.

"Hatred, hatred, I hate you," he said before the purple light surrounded him again, making the two of them look surprised.

"Wait what," Asta said.

"This magic, it keeps overflowing," Yuno said looking surprised.

"Look out," Mimosa said looking worried.

"This isn't good, can we even push it back a second time," Asta said looking annoyed.

"Now die," Patry said before firing another beam of light at the two magic knights. But then up from bellow a large shield of silver appeared in front of them and reflected Patrys attack. The shield sending blasts of light in different parts of the room making Patry look confused.

"Your complexion has changed, but I still recognize that magic," a familiar male voice said. Asta and Yuno looked surprised to see the person that had made the shield. Captain Nozel.

"Its captain Nozel," Asta said.

"Thank goodness," Mimosa said looking relieved.

"Hate, hate," Patry said as dark light swords appeared around him.

"Your magic may has changed as well, but I will not lose," Nozel said as mercury daggers came out of the shield and shot towards Patry. The daggers destroyed the light swords and chased after Patry who tried to dodge. He flew around the room before stopping and sending light swords at the daggers. But they just broke through them and some of them hit him before he flew off again.

"I hate you," he said before firing a blast of light at Nozel.

"Your magic can't win against mine," Nozel said as he made shields to block Patrys attack. When it came to magic each one was weaker to another. This is why magic knights fought in teams, to make up for the others weakness. But with Nozels constantly changing mercury, he was a team all on his own.

"I don't plan on losing to the one who beat the person whos magic is inferior to my own," Nozel said as he thought of Fuegoleon and the day he was wounded in the capital, "Ive trained for this day, to avenge my rival," he said as rain of mercury shot down at Patry.

"The guy might be a cold hearted jerk, but I cant say he isn't powerful," Asta said looking serious as he watched the battle continue.

"I hate you, I hate you," Patry said firing more light swords but were destroyed by more of Nozels mercury daggers.

"This is it," Nozel said as the pieces of mercury around Patry began to merge into a dome. With shields at certain points, "Mercury magic, dome of execution," Nozel said.

"I couldn't use this spell earlier because my magic was being distorted, but this is the perfect spell to end you," Nozel said from on top of a piece of mercury.

"I hate you, why don't you just die already human," Patry said before firing light swords at Nozel who made shields to block him. Then daggers shot from the shield and hit Patry. He then shot more swords and some of them were reflected off the dome.

"Let your own rage be your undoing," Nozel said as shields surrounded Patry as his own swords reflected off the shields and hit him. He screamed in pain as Rhya looked up.

"Patry, I'm sorry," Rhya thought as he watched the dome fall apart and Patry was trapped in Nozels mercury, "If only I had spoken up back then, you wouldn't have had gone through this," he thought as his eyes began to close.

He then saw a green glow, "What is this feeling, its so warm," he thought before looking up to see Mimosa was using healing princess flower robe , "Why are you doing this," he said.

"Sorry but I need to concentrate and even if your my enemy I don't need a reason to heal you," she said looking serious making him look surprised.

"Being saved by a human royal, these humans are to kind," he thought smiling.

As Patry was lowered to the ground Nozel spoke up, "Asta and Yuno wasn't it, sorry but the title of wizard king will be mine," he said turning to look at them. The two of them look surprised as Asta thought back to how Fuegoleon said he was his rival.

"Sorry, but the wizard king is going to be me," Asta said looking determined.

"I'm going to be the next wizard king," Yuno said looking serious.

"No its me," Asta said.

"No me," Yuno said as the two of them argued.

"No then, time to finish you," Nozel said looking at Patry as a mercury dagger came out of the substance he was standing on.

"Wait hold up, is this really how we should be handling this," Asta said speaking up.

"Are you a fool, hes the leader of the eye of the midnight sun and has caused a lot of losses to the magic knights," Nozel said, "He must be stopped,".

"I know but," Asta said.

"I'm going to have to agree with him, that body doesn't belong to him," Yuno said, "It belongs to captain Vangeance," he said making Nozel look confused.

"There must be some mistake, their magic and appearances are different," he said.

"I know, but I have a feeling that captain Vangeance is still in there," Yuno said, "So here's my plan, we let him take care of it," he said calmly as he looked at Asta.

"Yeah I got it," Asta said as he took out the demon destroyer sword.

"Are you sure you can do it," Nozel said.

"I will," Asta said looking determined as he held up the sword.

"Alright then, Noelle seems to trust you so ill leave it to you, don't let us down," Nozel said looking serious.

"Thanks, you better have apologized to her," Asta said walking forward.

"I did, also I hold no grudge against you attacking Solid that day in the capital, you were right to defend yourself," Nozel said making Asta look surprised.

"Thank you," he said before walking towards the trapped Patry. He placed the sword on him and then a lot of darkness came off him making Asta look surprised. "I haven't seen this much anti magic before," he thoughht as more came off and started to surround him.

"What is this," Yuno thought looking surprised before the darkness completely surrounded Asta and Patry, "Asta," he said.
