The cabins were set up with a kitchen, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms, each with two beds. After some shuffling and discussion, it was decided that Sario and I would share one room while Tanaka and Tsukishima took the other.
"Looks like we're roomies," Sario said with a grin as we carried our bags into our room.
"Yeah, this should be fun," I replied, feeling a sense of relief. At least I'd be sharing the space with someone I was comfortable with.
Once we were settled in, I looked around our cozy room. The beds were neatly made, and the windows offered a view of the forest surrounding the cabins. It felt peaceful, a perfect escape from the usual hustle and bustle of school life.
"Hey, we should check out the area," Sario suggested, already digging through her bag for a change of clothes. "I heard there are some cool shops nearby."
"That sounds great, but I think I'm going to hang out with Kuroo for a bit," I said, feeling a little guilty. "We haven't had much time to catch up lately."
Sario nodded understandingly. "No worries. We'll have plenty of time to hang out later. Just be back in time for dinner."
"Will do," I promised, grabbing my bag and heading out the door.
I found Kuroo outside, chatting with a boy I recognized from his team. As I approached, Kuroo's face lit up with a smile.
"Hey, Blackfire! This is my best friend, Kenma," he said, gesturing to the boy next to him.
"Hi, Kenma," I said, smiling. "Nice to meet you."
Kenma gave a small nod, his eyes glued to a handheld gaming console. "Nice to meet you too," he mumbled, not looking up from his game.
"And you remember Lily from the party, right?" Kuroo added, pointing to the girl standing next to him.
"Of course," I said, waving at Lily. "Hey, Lily."
"Hey, Blackfire," Lily replied with a warm smile. "It's good to see you again."
"So, what's the plan?" I asked, looking at Kuroo.
"We were thinking about checking out the shops and then heading to the beach," he said. "What do you think?"
"Sounds perfect," I said, feeling excited. "Let's go."
The four of us headed into town, exploring the various shops and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. Kenma stayed close to Kuroo, his focus split between his game and our surroundings. Lily and I chatted about the party and our interests, quickly finding common ground.
As we walked, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. It was nice to be away from the drama and just enjoy the company of friends. The sun was shining, and the town was full of interesting little shops and cafes.
We wandered through a small bookstore, where Kenma finally looked up from his game to browse through the manga section. Kuroo and I joked about some of the titles, and even Lily found a few books that caught her interest.
After a while, we decided to grab some ice cream from a nearby stand. We sat on a bench, enjoying our treats and the warm afternoon sun.
"This place is really nice," I said, taking a bite of my ice cream. "I'm glad we decided to come here."
"Yeah, it's a great break from the usual routine," Kuroo agreed, leaning back and stretching his arms.
Kenma nodded, his eyes still on his game. "It's peaceful."
Lily smiled. "And the beach is going to be amazing. I can't wait to go there."
"Me neither," I said, feeling a surge of excitement. "It's been a while since I've been to the beach."
"Then let's finish up here and head over," Kuroo said, standing up and stretching. "It's going to be a fun afternoon."
We all agreed and finished our ice cream, ready for the next part of our adventure. As we headed towards the beach, I felt a sense of anticipation building. This trip was turning out to be exactly what I needed—a chance to relax, have fun, and maybe even figure out some of the confusing feelings swirling around inside me.
