A week had passed since Tate's return, and things were beginning to feel like old times again. Tate had re-enrolled in school, and we quickly fell back into our comfortable rhythm. But the fracture with Sario still haunted me. I missed her, and I knew I had to do something big to make things right.

One evening, after a long day of school and skating practice, I sat in my room and brainstormed ways to show Sario how much she meant to me. I decided on something heartfelt and personal: a basket filled with all her favorite goodies and a handwritten note. I carefully selected her favorite snacks, some cute trinkets, and a small bouquet of flowers. The note was the hardest part, but I poured my heart into it, apologizing for everything and telling her how much I missed her.

The next day, I approached Sario at school with the basket. My heart pounded in my chest as I handed it to her, hoping this would be the gesture that would mend our friendship.

"Sario, I made this for you," I said, my voice trembling slightly. "I hope we can talk and fix things."

She looked at the basket, her face unreadable. For a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of something in her eyes, but it quickly disappeared. She pushed the basket away, her expression hardening.

"Blackfire, this isn't going to fix anything," she snapped. "You think a few goodies and a note can make up for everything? You're so clueless."

I stepped back, shocked by her harsh tone. "Sario, I just wanted to—"

She cut me off, her voice rising. "No, Blackfire. You never listen to me. It's always about you and your problems. You don't care about anyone else."

My heart sank as her words hit me like a ton of bricks. "That's not true, Sario. I do care about you. You're my best friend."

"Really?" she scoffed. "Then why do you never listen to my problems? Why is it always about you and your drama?"

"I... I didn't realize," I stammered, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes.

"And you think Tsukishima would ever like you?" she continued, her voice dripping with venom. "You're delusional, Blackfire. Maybe you're all alone like he said."

Her words were a knife to my heart. I stood there, stunned and speechless, as Sario turned and walked away, leaving me alone with the rejected basket and my shattered hopes.

I couldn't move, couldn't think. How had it come to this? The one person I thought would always be there for me had just torn me apart with her words. And the worst part was, I didn't even know how to begin to fix it.
