You sat next to Steve on the couch as he went through Bucky's files.

"So, you guys have been friends for quite a long time, huh?" You muttered, glancing at the files with him.

"Yeah, obviously he's different then before but...I'm not going to just let him rot away in a prison." He said as you smiled and leant against him.

"You're a good friend. You think he'll like me?" You asked making him chuckle softly.

You were always like a daughter to Steve.

"I'm sure he'll love you, just give him some space to start off... He's been through a lot and can be touchy." He warned as you nodded and he wrapped an arm around your shoulder.

"If you get scared of him, just let me know." He said making you smile.

"I will, I promise."

--

You stood next to Steve, excited but nervous to meet Bucky.

The elevator opened, it was just you, Tony and Steve.

You didn't want to overwhelm him on his first day.

"Buck... It's good to see you." Steve said before Bucky's eyes landed on you and narrowed.

"They didn't warn me you would be here." He growled as you glanced at Steve.

"Um... I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you?" You muttered as he walked forward.

"So, you're really going to play that bullshit, huh? Y/N is the best fake name you can come up with?" He grumbled as you looked around in confusion.

"Buck, this is Y/N. I don't know who you think she is but I can promise you she isn't them." Steve replied as you nodded a little, still hiding behind Steve.

"Shes a hydra agent! I would know that face anywhere." He muttered in anger, moving even closer to you.

"You look...younger." He whispered, Steve stepped in front of you.

"She's seventeen, Buck. Maybe she just looks like someone you knew." Steve replied in your defence.

"I can show you my birth certificate if you want." You butted in front behind Steve.

Bucky reached forward and took your hand, looking over it before sighing.

"It's not...her. I'm sorry, I just...you look so much like her." He whispered, you smiled a little, just thankful he wasn't trying to kill you.

"I never knew my parents... Wouldn't be shocked if it turned out they were hydra agents." You muttered, awkwardly rubbing the back of your neck while he stared at you.

"She might have been your mother... She's dead anyway." He grumbled with no empathy evident in his voice.

"Eh, it's fine. Never knew her." You replied quietly, this conversation was going rather poorly.

"Why don't we show you around?"
